Construction Site Manager – Windows and Glass

We work across bespoke residential projects, including custom windows, skylights, glass roofs, pergolas, atriums, conservatories and pool enclosures.
Our projects are highly customised, working closely with homeowners, architects and builders to deliver solutions where design, functionality and quality all matter.
We are looking for an experienced Site Manager – Windows and Glass to join our team and take ownership of the day-to-day delivery of our projects across Melbourne.
About the Role
This is a hands-on site management role for someone who understands that successful projects come down to planning, communication, quality and attention to detail.
You will oversee the installation and construction phases of custom window and glass projects, coordinating trades, subcontractors, materials and site activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
You'll be the person our trades, clients, builders, architects and office team rely on to keep projects moving and resolve issues before they become problems.
Key Responsibilities
Site & Project Management
- Oversee day-to-day site operations across custom window, glass, renovation and residential construction projects.
- Coordinate and schedule installers, trades and subcontractors to keep projects on program.
- Plan site activities and ensure the right people, materials and equipment are available when required.
- Coordinate deliveries, access, lifting requirements and site logistics.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential delays or issues early.
- Maintain accurate site diaries, photographs, records and project documentation.
- Coordinate with builders, architects, homeowners and other project stakeholders throughout the installation process.
- Assist with resolving on-site construction and installation issues in a practical and timely manner.
Quality & Technical
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure workmanship, installation quality and finishing meet Sunwize standards.
- Review plans, drawings and specifications and ensure work is completed in accordance with project requirements.
- Ensure window, glazing and glass installations are completed correctly and to the required tolerances and specifications.
- Identify defects,
variations or potential installation issues and coordinate corrective action.
- Ensure projects comply with the National Construction Code (NCC/BCA), relevant Australian Standards and applicable Victorian building requirements.
- Maintain a strong focus on weatherproofing, flashing, drainage, sealing, tolerances and overall installation quality.
- Work closely with the office and technical teams where site conditions require design or installation solutions.
Safety & Compliance
- Take responsibility for site safety and maintain a protected, organised and professional work environment.
- Conduct and/or coordinate site inductions and ensure trades and subcontractors understand site requirements.
- Ensure SWMS and other safety documentation are in place and followed.
- Monitor compliance with relevant WorkSafe Victoria requirements and workplace health and safety procedures.
- Identify hazards and take appropriate action to eliminate or control risks.
- Ensure appropriate PPE, access equipment and site controls are used.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a key point of contact on site for clients, builders, architects, trades and subcontractors.
- Communicate professionally and confidently with clients, particularly when managing bespoke or high-end residential projects.
- Keep clients and stakeholders informed about site progress, access requirements and upcoming works.
- Liaise with building surveyors, certifiers and councils where required to facilitate inspections, approvals and project completion.
- Keep the Sunwize office team informed of progress, variations, delays and issues.
- Communicate clearly and proactively to prevent misunderstandings, delays and rework.
About You We are looking for an experienced Site Manager, Foreman or Construction Supervisor who is comfortable taking ownership of a site and getting things done.
You will ideally have
- Proven experience in residential construction site management, project supervision or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, sequencing and site coordination.
- A sound understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC/BCA) and relevant Australian Standards.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and multiple trades.
- Strong understanding of site safety, SWMS and Victorian construction requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and a genuine commitment to quality workmanship.
- The ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, plans and specifications.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to resolving site issues.
- The confidence to communicate directly with clients, builders and trades.
- A hands-on attitude and willingness to get involved when required.
- A current driver's licence and the ability to travel to sites across Melbourne.
Experience with windows, glazing, aluminium, glass roofs, skylights or architectural glass installations will be highly regarded, but we are also interested in experienced residential construction Site Managers who have the right technical and project-management capabilities. Why Join Sunwize?
