About the Role

Join the Infrastructure Delivery & Major Projects team as a Construction Supervisor and take charge of shaping the future of council assets! Direct the construction of vital infrastructure projects including earthworks, roads, and drainage systems, ensuring adherence to approved plans and industry standards. Conduct meticulous daily inspections to guarantee compliance with Council specifications and standards.

Your keen eye will monitor construction activities, assess quality, and address any deviations promptly.





Your role also includes resolving issues with contractors, conducting Practical and Final Completion inspections, and maintaining meticulous records. Collaborate with consultants to refine construction specifications and uphold the highest technical standards. Champion community interests by ensuring neighbouring properties are considered during construction.

The following are some of the key responsibility areas for this role:

- Undertake daily inspections of development works to ensure that contractors use appropriate industry practices.
- Monitor, record and assess construction activities including proof rolls, drainage installation, asphalting depths, compaction rates etc, to ensure compliance with Council’s specifications and standards.
- Reject works not complying with Council’s specifications and standards.
- Resolve construction issues with consultants and contractors.
- Undertake Practical Completion (PC) and Final Completion (FC) inspections and record results. Separate PC and FC to be issued for identified DCP works.
- Assist to develop and review the construction specification and standard drawings.

About the Successful Candidate The successful candidate will have a tertiary engineering qualification that is eligible for registration in accordance with the Skilled Engineers Registration Act 2019 or a lesser relevant qualification with extensive civil construction supervision experience.



They will poses a strong technical expertise and understanding in contract management and knowledge of civil engineering construction principles, practices and standards including Local Government’s (Council’s), VicRoads and the Infrastructure Design Manual (IDM). You will be required to foster good relationships with internal and external customers through sound verbal and written communication with the ability to effectively negotiate and influence contractors for positive outcomes. It will be vital that the successful candidate can also make positive contributions to the current positive team culture and dynamic.
