About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager West Kimberley, you’ll coordinate the day-to-day delivery of the Transition to Work (TtW) program in Broome and allocated West Kimberley locations. This is a hands-on coordination role combining staff supervision, specialist youth employment guidance and practical participant support. You’ll help your team deliver culturally safe services that respond to each young person’s strengths, circumstances and goals, while supporting pathways into education, training and sustainable employment.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and Support Your Team: Supervise and coach staff and youth coaches, coordinate workloads, provide constructive feedback and build a positive, inclusive team culture.
- Coordinate Program Delivery: Organise appointments, caseloads, engagement activities and outreach to ensure young people receive timely, consistent support.
- Support Young People: Oversee Individual Pathway Plans, mentoring, practical assistance and re-engagement strategies, including appropriate referrals for participants with complex needs.
- Create Education and Employment Pathways: Connect participants with training, apprenticeships, traineeships, paid work experience and employment, and coordinate support to help sustain their outcomes.
- Build Strong Relationships: Work with schools, employers, training providers, support services, Aboriginal organisations, Elders and community representatives to strengthen local opportunities and referral pathways.
- Monitor Performance and Quality: Apply program requirements, monitor participation and outcomes, maintain accurate records,



prepare operational reports and coordinate service improvements within delegated authority.
- Promote Safe, Culturally Responsive Services: Respect cultural protocols, maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries, support safe outreach practices and escalate child safety or safeguarding concerns appropriately.

Qualifications & Experience

We’re looking for someone who brings:

- Demonstrated experience coordinating or supervising staff in youth, employment, vocational or community services, including workload allocation, coaching and monitoring service quality.
- Specialist knowledge of youth engagement and case management, including supporting young people experiencing barriers to education, training or employment.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work constructively with diverse stakeholders.
- Sound judgement, initiative and the ability to apply program guidelines, resolve operational issues and recognise when additional support or escalation is needed.
- Strong organisational, digital case management and reporting skills, including accurate recordkeeping and the ability to interpret service data.
- A commitment to culturally safe, person-centred and strengths-based practice, with experience applying safe work practices and undertaking risk assessments.

A relevant qualification in Employment Services, Youth Work, Community Services, Business Administration or a related discipline is preferred, supported by relevant supervisory and specialist practice experience. Equivalent expertise gained through substantial relevant employment, training and professional development will also be considered. Experience working in regional or remote communities, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and delivering DEWR-funded programs such as Transition to Work or Workforce Australia is desirable.

- A current C Class driver’s licence.
- A current Western Australian Working with Children Check.
- A National Police Certificate.
- The ability to undertake regular travel by road and air, including short stays away from home under approved travel arrangements.
