This is a hands-on technical role working closely with Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Fabrication and Site teams to produce accurate, practical and constructible drawings and coordinated 3D models. The role will support projects from concept and detailed design through fabrication, installation, commissioning and final as-built documentation. You will be responsible for preparing and coordinating high-quality engineering drawings and models across mechanical, piping, structural, civil and equipment interfaces.
Key responsibilities
- Preparing 2D and 3D engineering drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Developing detailed layouts, assemblies and fabrication drawings
- Producing general arrangements, piping layouts, skid and modular plant drawings
- Coordinating multidisciplinary BIM models
- Undertaking clash detection and interface coordination
- Preparing fabrication-ready drawings and Bills of Materials where required
- Converting engineering mark-ups, site measurements, vendor drawings and red-lines into controlled documentation
- Maintaining drawing registers, revisions and document status
- Coordinating vendor drawings and equipment interfaces
- Supporting Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication and Site teams with technical information
About you
- Formal qualifications in Engineering Drafting, Mechanical Design, BIM, CAD or a related discipline
- Robust practical experience using AutoCAD
- Strong practical experience using SolidWorks
- Experience producing detailed engineering and fabrication drawings
- Practical BIM coordination experience
- Ability to interpret P&IDs;, specifications, engineering mark-ups and vendor information
- Experience with 3D modelling and multidisciplinary interfaces
- Understanding of fabrication and construction methods
- Strong revision control and document-management discipline
- Ability to manage multiple drawing packages and priorities
