Early Childhood Teacher – Arkie Early Education, Wahroonga
Full-Time | Wahroonga, NSW | At Arkie Early Education, children are at the centre of every decision we make.
We are looking for a passionate, caring and experienced Early Childhood Teacher who genuinely believes in creating an setting where children feel safe, secure, respected, heard and excited to learn.
This is not simply a programming or compliance role. We are looking for a teacher who wants to know the children in their care, build meaningful relationships with them and their families, and create learning experiences that respond to each child's individual interests, strengths, needs and development.

About the Role
As an Early Childhood Teacher at Arkie, you will work alongside our educators to provide high-quality education and care while helping create a nurturing, engaging and child-focused learning environment. You will be responsible for:
- Building warm, trusting and respectful relationships with every child.
- Creating an environment where children feel secure, valued, included and confident to express themselves.
- Planning and implementing meaningful, play-based learning experiences aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework.
- Observing and documenting children's learning, development, interests and individual needs.
- Ensuring children's voices, choices and perspectives are incorporated into the educational program.
- Providing active supervision and maintaining a strong awareness of children's safety and wellbeing throughout the day.
- Identifying and responding appropriately to any concerns regarding a child's safety or wellbeing in accordance with mandatory reporting requirements and Arkie's child protection procedures.
- Maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and consistently modelling safe, respectful interactions with children.
- Supporting educators through mentoring, collaboration and professional guidance.
- Building positive partnerships with families and encouraging their involvement in their child's learning.
- Supporting children with differing abilities, backgrounds, cultures and individual needs.
- Maintaining accurate educational records and documentation.
- Working in accordance with the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standards, Child Safe Standards and all relevant legislation and service policies.
- Contributing to the ongoing improvement of our educational program and the broader service.
Who We're Looking For
We would love to hear from an ECT who is genuinely passionate about children and early childhood education. The right person will be someone who enjoys being present with children, gets involved in their play and learning, and understands that strong relationships and emotional safety are the foundation for everything else we do.
You will have
- An ACECQA-approved Bachelor-level Early Childhood Teaching qualification, or recognised equivalent.
- Please note: Graduate Diploma ECT qualifications will not be considered for this position.
- A strong understanding of child development and contemporary early childhood pedagogy.
- A thorough understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards.
- A strong commitment to child safety, child protection and creating a child-safe culture.
- An understanding of mandatory reporting obligations and appropriate professional boundaries when working with children.
- The ability to recognise and respond to children's individual needs, behaviours, interests and cues.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to guide and support other educators while remaining collaborative and approachable.
- A genuine desire to continuously improve your teaching practice.
- A current Working with Children Check.
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management certifications, or the ability to obtain them prior to commencement.
