Summary:
The Early Childhood Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality early childhood education and care, supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing. The role will involve planning and implementing engaging educational programs, maintaining strong relationships with children and families, and working collaboratively with educators to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
The successful candidate will bring strong knowledge of early childhood education, a commitment to continuous improvement, and the ability to contribute positively to the centre’s educational program and team.
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and evaluate developmentally appropriate educational programs in line with the EYLF.
- Support children’s learning, development, wellbeing, and individual needs.
- Observe, document, and assess children’s learning and development.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with children, families, and educators.
- Create a secure, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with educators to ensure consistent and high-quality educational practices.
- Support the development and implementation of the centre’s Quality Improvement Plan.
- Maintain accurate documentation, records, and learning portfolios.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, policies, and quality standards.
- Mentor and support educators in developing effective teaching and learning practices.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding children’s progress, development, and wellbeing.
- Promote a strong culture of child safety, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
About You
- Demonstrated experience as an Early Childhood Teacher in an early childhood education setting.
- Strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and early childhood teaching practices.
- Sound knowledge of child development, learning outcomes, and observation/documentation practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and provide guidance to educators.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- A caring, professional, and child-focused approach.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and high-quality educational outcomes.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or an equivalent ACECQA-approved qualification.
- Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Current approved child protection training, including CHCPRT025 or equivalent.
- Basic Food Handling or Food Safety Supervisor certification, where applicable.
- Geccko Foundations of Child Safety certification.
