We’re looking for an experienced Cook/Chef to take ownership of our kitchen at Brady Bunch Hertford Street.
This is a great weekday role where you’ll prepare fresh, nutritious meals for the children in our care, manage and organise your own kitchen space, and be a warm and welcoming part of our centre community.
Our healthy menu is already developed, with clear systems, extensive training and ongoing support from our Food Safety & Kitchen Operations Manager.
The Role
- Prepare fresh, nutritious meals and snacks from our established menu
- Take ownership of your kitchen – keeping it organised, clean, safe and running smoothly
- Safely manage allergies, medical and dietary requirements
- Maintain excellent food safety and hygiene standards
- Be warm, friendly and comfortable engaging with children and families
- Join in fun cooking and food experiences with the children
- Work collaboratively as part of our wider centre team
About You
You’ll be someone who
- Has previous cook or chef experience – childcare experience is a bonus, not essential
- Is organised, reliable and confident taking responsibility for their kitchen
- Has strong food safety knowledge and attention to detail
- Understands allergy management and preventing cross-contamination
- Is warm, approachable and genuinely enjoys being around children
- Is committed to child safety, wellbeing and our Child Safe Standards
- Holds a current Working with Children Check (WWCC), or is willing and eligible to obtain one
- Is willing to complete all required child safety training
