Golden Horizon Services is seeking compassionate, dependable and motivated Disability Support Workers to join our growing team.
Previous disability support experience is not essential. We welcome applicants who are recent to the industry and have the right attitude. Training and guidance will be provided. Most importantly, you must be reliable, punctual and genuinely committed to supporting people with disability.
About the role
You will provide person-centred support to NDIS participants in their homes and within the community. Duties may include:
- Assisting with daily living activities and household tasks
- Supporting personal care, where required
- Helping participants attend appointments and community activities
- Encouraging independence, choice and skill development
- Preparing meals and assisting with grocery shopping
- Providing medication support after appropriate training
- Following individual care plans, behaviour support plans and risk-management strategies
- Completing transparent and accurate shift notes and incident reports
- Communicating professionally with participants, families and the wider support team
- Maintaining participants’ dignity, privacy, safety and wellbeing
Essential requirements
Applicants must have
- Certificate III or above in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care or an equivalent qualification
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current CPR Certificate
- Current Manual Handling Certificate
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current National Police Check
- Current Medication Management Certificate
- Completed NDIS Worker Orientation Modules, with certificates
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- Valid working rights in Australia and the ability to provide visa details, where applicable
- A professional résumé
- A suitable identification photograph
- The ability to provide 100 points of identification
- A valid Tax File Number
- Superannuation account details

Pay: $26.44 – $57.20 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 – 20.0 per week
