We are seeking a talented and commercially minded Apparel & Accessories Designer to join our Design team on a 12-month maternity leave contract.
In this role, you will lead the design and development of Seafolly's apparel and accessories collections, translating seasonal trends and creative direction into commercially successful products that embody our brand aesthetic. From initial concept through to production, you will play a key role in delivering collections that meet customer needs while achieving fit, quality, cost and margin objectives.
Working closely with cross-functional teams and offshore suppliers, you will drive product development, ensure technical excellence throughout the design process, and contribute to the continued success of one of Australia's most iconic swimwear and lifestyle brands.

You will:
Design and deliver cohesive, brand-aligned seasonal apparel and accessories collections that balance creativity, trend relevance and commercial success.
Lead the end-to-end design process, translating trend research, colour,
print and fabric direction into market-ready product from concept through to production.
Create detailed CADs, technical drawings and design documentation that clearly communicate product vision and development requirements.
Drive product development excellence by partnering with Garment Tech, Product Development and suppliers to achieve fit, quality, construction and finish standards.
Review and manage sample development, providing clear technical feedback on fit, fabrication, construction, proportion and finishing details.
Apply strong commercial acumen to balance design integrity, customer needs, quality, cost and margin objectives while identifying product innovation opportunities.
Build and maintain effective relationships with offshore suppliers and factories, ensuring timely communication and successful product outcomes.
Lead, mentor and support the Assistant Designer while collaborating cross-functionally to deliver seasonal collections on time and achieve key development milestones.
You have:
8+ years’ experience in apparel and accessories design, ideally within a fashion, lifestyle, swimwear or resortwear brand.
Proven ability to manage the full product development lifecycle from concept and design through to production.
Strong technical expertise across apparel construction, fabrics, trims, finishes and manufacturing, including wovens, cut-and-sew and knitwear.
Advanced Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills,
with the ability to create detailed CADs, technical specifications and design drawings.
Strong understanding of garment fit, with the ability to assess samples and provide clear, constructive feedback.
Experience collaborating with offshore suppliers and factories to deliver quality products on time and within budget.
Commercially minded with strong product and quality knowledge, balancing design vision, cost, quality and production feasibility.
Highly organised and collaborative, with excellent communication skills, the ability to manage multiple seasonal deadlines, and experience mentoring junior designers.
