GameDay

Cremorne

Game on.

GameDay is the market-leading sports management platform trusted by national governing bodies, professional clubs, grassroots associations, and events across Australia, Current Zealand, the UK, and Europe. For over 20 years, we have powered the engine room of sport; membership, registrations, competitions, ticketing, live scoring, and payments, for the organisations that keep millions of people playing the sports they love. Our Cremorne office is where the local action happens. We’re building modern, scalable tech that directly impacts millions of sports participants, volunteers, and fans every weekend.

We are looking for a practical, forward-thinking Full Stack Developer to join our tech team. If you love taking ownership of frontend experiences, writing clean backend code, and leveraging modern AI workflows to maximize your output, this is your team.

The Role

As a Full Stack Developer at GameDay, you will work across our platform ecosystem to design, build, and maintain features that solve real problems for sporting bodies and grassroots volunteers. You will bridge the gap between intuitive front-end interfaces and robust, scalable backend services. We aren't looking for developers who just write code by hand line-by-line, we want problem solvers who actively leverage tools like Claude Code and ChatGPT Codex to accelerate prototyping, write better code, iterate quickly, and multiply their output.

You’ll be responsible for:

- Owning Feature UI/UX: Taking full ownership of end-to-end feature interfaces, translating complex requirements directly into clean, responsive, and intuitive user experiences, rather than just implementing pre-made mockups.
- Building End-to-End Features: Developing high-quality web applications using React on the front end and Node.js on the back end.
- Product Thinking: Working comfortably with complex data models and business rules, turning them into simple, seamless, and intuitive experiences for everyday sports administrators and volunteers.
- AI-Assisted Delivery:

Integrating AI coding workflows into your daily development process to speed up prototyping, testing, and feature delivery.
- API & System Design: Creating and maintaining robust RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Quality & Performance: Writing clear tests, performing code reviews, and optimizing platform performance for high-traffic weekends.

About You

- Experience: Minimum 3 years of commercial software development experience in full-stack web application development.
- Core Tech Stack: Strong skills in React, Node.js, HTML5 and CSS/SCSS.
- UI/UX Ownership & Product Mindset: Comfortable owning the UI/UX layer of features and converting intricate sports management data models and business rules into sleek, user-friendly workflows.
- AI Champion: You actively use Claude Code and ChatGPT Codex as part of your day-to-day workflow to boost productivity, draft code, and solve complex problems faster.
- Practical Problem Solver: Focused on delivering real business value and practical solutions that improve life for local sports volunteers.
- Team Player: Strong communicator who enjoys collaborating in a hybrid office environment and learning from peers.

Why GameDay?

- Hybrid flexibility: 3 days a week in our vibrant Cremorne office, 2 days working from home.
- Location: Modern office in the heart of Cremorne, surrounded by Melbourne’s best cafes, transport, and sports precincts.
- An industry you can be proud of: Your work directly supports grassroots clubs, national governing bodies, and the local sporting community.
- Culture: A passionate, low-ego team that lives our core values: Play to Win, Own the Solution, Be a Team Player, and Run in Customers' Shoes.

Ready to join the team?

If you’re excited about technology, love taking ownership of product UI/UX, and want to work on platforms that power Australian sport, we want to hear from you. We move quickly. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted promptly for an initial phone screen, followed by a formal interview process in Cremorne.

Apply now via SEEK with your resume and a brief cover note outlining your relevant experience and how you currently use AI in your development workflow.
