Red Dot is seeking a commercially focused, hands-on Regional Operations Manager to lead our Southern Region.
Reporting to the General Manager – Operations, you will lead approximately 12–15 stores and coach Store Managers to deliver strong sales, wage, profitability, team and operational outcomes.
This is a permanent full-time role, based from home when you are not travelling or working in stores. Regular travel is an essential part of the role. You will spend time in stores each week and undertake regional travel, including overnight stays as required.
This opportunity may suit an experienced multi-site retail leader or an exceptional Store Manager ready to step up. We are looking for someone who enjoys being in stores, developing leaders, improving performance and turning plans into action.
What you will be responsible for
- Lead, coach and hold Store Managers accountable for sales, wages, profitability, team performance and operational standards.
- Build capable, engaged store leadership teams, with a strong focus on retention, succession planning and developing high performers.
- Establish clear regional priorities, disciplined store-visit cycles and effective weekly communication rhythms.
- Use sales, wage, stock and operational reporting to identify priorities and coach stronger commercial decisions.
- Support Store Managers to build rosters that protect customer service and execution while achieving wage budgets.
- Maintain safe, consistent and well-presented stores, with company policies, operating procedures and safety requirements understood and followed.
- Lead the execution of seasonal events, promotions, merchandising plans and company initiatives across the region.
- Complete Store Operational Reviews, follow up agreed actions and maintain strong operational, people and compliance standards.
- Support effective stock flow, loss prevention and the resolution of escalated customer matters.
- Represent Red Dot positively across our stores, Support Office and the wider community.

- Achievement of the annual regional sales budget.
- Achievement of the regional wage-to-sales percentage budget.
- Delivery of individual store contribution targets.
- Strong store-team retention and engagement. (80%+)
- Completion of annual Store Operational Reviews and agreed follow-up actions.
- Strong results across operational, people and compliance measures.
- A healthy pipeline of capable store leaders and successors.
About you
- Demonstrated success leading teams and delivering strong retail results.
- Experience coaching leaders, lifting capability and addressing performance or behaviour issues constructively.
- Strong commercial understanding across sales, wages, profitability and stock.
- The ability to interpret reports, identify priorities and turn insights into practical action.
- Experience recruiting, onboarding and developing store leaders.
- Strong merchandising instincts and an understanding of how store presentation influences sales.
- Clear and honest communication, with the confidence to have difficult conversations when required.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently across a geographically dispersed region.
- A practical, hands-on leadership style and a willingness to step in when needed.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and retail reporting systems.
- A current driver’s licence and the flexibility to undertake regular regional and overnight travel.
Multi-site retail leadership experience is an advantage, not a requirement.
We are equally interested in high-performing Store Managers who can demonstrate the commercial capability, leadership maturity and coaching skills to lead and develop other Store Managers.
