GEO & SEO Content Writing Intern (Unpaid, Remote)

Sydney Music Lessons matches students and parents with vetted, private music teachers across piano, guitar, voice, strings and more, for lessons at home, at the teacher's place, or online. Every teacher is checked for proven proficiency and real teaching experience, and we handle the matching and admin so families can focus on learning.

This is an unpaid, remote internship running for 3 months, built around small group mentorship from a working digital marketing qualified. You'll write real blog content for a live business, learning modern SEO and GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) technique by doing the work, getting direct feedback, and seeing how it performs. This isn't a resume-filler - it's for someone who wants to seriously build a content, SEO and GEO skill set and will put in consistent, careful work to do it.

The actual workload is lighter than it sounds, especially once you're using AI to help draft - what we actually need is consistency, not long hours.

What you'll learn:

- How to write blog content that performs for SEO - structure, keyword intent, on-page technique
- How to adapt that writing for GEO - earning visibility inside AI answers (ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, AI Overviews)
- How to use AI tools to actually write your content faster,



without losing the SEO/GEO judgement behind it
- How search engines actually rank and evaluate content
- Specific SEO tactics and tricks of the trade
- How LLMs process content, by testing your own writing against them and analysing what comes back
- How to factor the competitor landscape and business strategy into content decisions
- The WordPress back end, from writing to publishing

What we're looking for:

- Full follow-through - 100%, every time, not "good enough"
- Consistent weekly availability for the full 3 months (the workload itself is manageable — consistency is what matters most)
- Available for at least one required 1-hour group mentorship session per week (up to two)
- Takes real notes in sessions and studies them, rather than assuming you'll remember
- A genuine interest in improving your writing, SEO, GEO and digital marketing skills

Time commitment: 3 months, remote. 1–2 hours/week of group mentorship sessions, plus light, consistent writing time between sessions. Compensation: Unpaid. In exchange, you get structured mentorship, hands-on experience writing for a live business, and a working SEO/GEO/content-strategy skill set that normally takes years on the job to build.
