About the role

Infraworks is seeking a Graduate Engineer to join our operations team in a hands-on, business-facing role that sits at the centre of how our projects and maintenance services are delivered.

This role is open to both recent engineering graduates and engineering students in the final stages of their degree who are studying part-time and able to commit to four days per week.

This is not a traditional design-only graduate role. Instead, you'll work closely with operations, engineering, training and management teams to help coordinate people, resources and documentation across a live maintenance and project workplace.

You'll gain exposure to how engineering decisions translate into real-world delivery — from workforce planning and compliance through to project support and continuous improvement. It's an ideal role for someone who wants practical experience, commercial awareness and a strong foundation for a long-term career in infrastructure and operations.

You'll be supported by experienced engineers and operations leaders, with genuine mentoring and flexibility to support your study commitments where required.

Key responsibilities

- Supporting resource allocation, rostering and workforce coordination across maintenance and project activities

- Assisting with planning and scheduling to ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time

- Preparing and maintaining operational, training and compliance documentation

- Supporting the Registered Training Organisation with training records and audit-ready documentation

- Liaising with operations teams,



supervisors, management and external stakeholders

- Assisting with tender preparation, data collation and operational reporting

- Developing a working understanding of Infraworks' Quality Management System, safety systems and operational procedures

- Contributing to process improvements that improve efficiency, compliance and service delivery

About you

You’re a motivated engineering graduate or engineering student who wants to understand how engineering work actually gets delivered — not just how it’s designed.

You’re organised, practical and comfortable working with people at all levels of the business.

You’ll bring

- A degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering (completed or currently studying part-time)

- Availability to work full-time or a minimum of 4 days per week

- Strong communication skills and the ability to build working relationships with operational teams
- A high level of organisation and attention to detail

- Confidence using IT systems and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)

- A willingness to learn, take initiative and take ownership of tasks

- Full Australian working rights and a current driver's licence





Previous experience in maintenance, project coordination, scheduling or compliance environments is advantageous but not essential - training and support will be provided.
