Your Role:

The Excavator Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient and productive operation of excavators on civil construction and earthworks projects. The position requires an experienced operator capable of completing detailed and bulk excavation works to required levels, tolerances and specifications while maintaining a solid commitment to safety, equipment care and project productivity, while complying with company policies, client requirements, and all applicable health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

This position is not available as FIFO

Applicants must reside in the Northern Territory

No relocation assistance is available

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

All candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment medical, and regular drug and alcohol screening. This position will be located at our remote Project Site, with rotating shifts of 2 weeks on, 1 week off.

- Safely and efficiently operate excavators across a range of civil construction and earthworks activities
- Undertake bulk excavation, detailed excavation, trenching, battering, loading and general earthworks
- Excavate accurately to required lines, levels, depths and grades
- Complete trenching and excavation for drainage, culverts,



services and other civil infrastructure
- Trim batters, drains, pads and formations to required specifications
- Operate effectively in confined or restricted work areas where required
- Use a range of excavator attachments including buckets, rock breakers, grabs and compaction attachments
- Work from site plans, survey marks, levels and supervisor instructions
- Operate GPS/machine-control systems where fitted and appropriately trained
- Comply with all company WHS policies, procedures and site requirements
- Complete daily pre-start inspections and required plant documentation
- Follow excavation permits, service-location requirements and exclusion zones

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

- Demonstrated experience operating excavators on civil construction and earthworks projects
- Strong experience in detailed excavation and bulk earthworks
- Proven ability to excavate accurately to levels, grades and specifications
- Sound understanding of civil construction and excavation safety
- GPS/machine-control experience
- Final trim and detailed excavation experience - desirable
- Ability to complete pre-starts and basic plant inspections using online platforms
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience on remote civil or mining projects
- Experience operating additional civil plant
- Excavator Operator Ticket/Statement of Attainment
- Current Australian Driver's Licence (HR desirable)
- Construction White Card
