Details: The ACT Courts and Tribunal (ACTCT) is seeking an experienced legal practitioner to join the Magistrates Court as Executive Director, Legal. Reporting to the Registrar, you will provide high-level legal and policy advice, exercise the Registrar’s most complex powers, and support the effective operation of the Court.

This is a senior leadership role requiring excellent legal knowledge, sound judgement and strong people management skills. You will lead teams, work closely with judicial officers and stakeholders, and contribute to legislative, policy and procedural improvements across the Magistrates Court.

Eligibility/Other requirements: A law degree and admission as an Australian legal practitioner are mandatory. The role may involve exposure to sensitive or distressing material and requires regular in office attendance.

A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
