Prolec Australia is a family owned and operated steel fabrication business specialising in custom stainless steel, aluminium and steel enclosures. We are looking for you to keep our workshop running smoothly by planning work, supporting the team and making sure the jobs are completed safely on time and to a high standard. Your key responsibilities

· Welding and light fabrication of Stainless Steel, Aluminium & steel enclosures

· Reading and working from production drawings

· Liaising with draftsman, sales and purchasing staff to ensure all components are ready and available to complete the jobs on time.

· Assist with the planning and scheduling of jobs to meet project deadlines.

· Maintain quality and effective supervision to reduce fabrication rework.

· Support the workshop staff and assist with problem solving including mentoring apprentice staff while promoting accountability and workshop discipline.

· Ensure fabrication equipment is maintained and compliant.

· Maintain the workshop in a safe, tidy and efficient manner.

· Maintain compliance with Health & Safety regulations.

About you

You will have

· Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Leading Hand

· Relevant Trade qualifications

· A strong commitment to safety.

· Extensive experience with MIG and Tig welding

· Good knowledge of general light fabrication and workshop processes with stainless steel, aluminium, mild steel,



brass and copper.

· Experience with CNC fabricating machines such as press brake, waterjet and laser cutter.

· The ability to read and understand fabrication drawings.

· Superior problem-solving abilities.

· Excellent communication and organisation.

· Current, unrestricted drivers licence and the ability to drive a manual vehicle.

· Full Australian working rights/residency

· Be able to pass a pre-employment medical with drug and alcohol testing.

Good to have

· Forklift licence

· Autocad Experience

We support a work/life balance with family-focused working hours, Full time with early knock-off on Fridays. Overtime is available and may be required to complete jobs during busy periods. Wages are negotiable based on experience.
