VET Trainer / Facilitator
Location: Murarrie, Brisbane
Travel: Some travel to the Gold Coast and client sites across South East Queensland as required
Reports To: RTO Manager

Position Overview
Hi Reach Training is seeking an experienced, professional and engaging VET Trainer / Facilitator to join our training team, primarily based at our Murarrie facility.
The position is predominantly Brisbane based, with some travel to our Gold Coast training facility and to client workplaces for onsite training.
The role is responsible for delivering high-quality, nationally recognised training to a diverse range of participants across construction, civil, warehousing, manufacturing and related industries.
The successful applicant will be confident delivering both classroom-based theory and practical training and will have a strong commitment to safety, compliance, participant engagement and quality vocational education.
Mandatory Training Competencies
Applicants must hold current vocational competency and industry currency in the following units:
· RIIWHS204E Work safely at heights
· RIIHAN301E Operate elevating work platform
· RIIWHS202E Enter and work in confined spaces
· MSMWHS217 Gas test atmospheres
· TLID0020 Shift materials safely using manual handling methods
· Experience delivering Verification of Competency (VOC) activities desirable.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate recent and relevant industry experience relating to the units they deliver.
Highly Desirable Competencies The following units, licences and experience would be highly regarded:
· TLILIC0005 – Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more)
· TLILIC0003 – Licence to operate a forklift truck
· Experience delivering High Risk Work Licence training and/or assessment
· Current Queensland HRWL relevant to the training being delivered
· Relevant High Risk Work Licence assessor accreditation where applicable
Training and Assessment Qualifications
Applicants must hold an appropriate current VET training and assessment credential that meets the requirements for trainers and assessors delivering nationally recognised training.
Applicants must also maintain
· Current vocational competency
· Current industry skills and knowledge
· Ongoing professional development in VET training and assessment
· Knowledge of current workplace health and safety requirements
· Knowledge of relevant Legislation and Standards
· Knowledge of RTO compliance and evidence requirements
Key Responsibilities The VET Trainer / Facilitator will:
· Deliver engaging, practical and compliant vocational training.
· Facilitate classroom, practical and workplace-based training.
· Deliver training at Hi Reach Training facilities and client workplaces.
· Provide clear instruction and demonstrations in the safe use of equipment.
· Adapt training methods to suit different participant experience levels and learning needs.
· Ensure participants receive sufficient opportunity to practise skills before assessment.
· Maintain a safe and professional training workplace.
· Complete all required training and participant documentation accurately and within required timeframes.
· Ensure attendance records, training records, practical activities and other evidence are complete and accurate.
· Follow Hi Reach Training’s Training and Assessment Strategies, policies, procedures and training resources.
· Provide constructive feedback and support to participants throughout their training.
· Identify participants who may require additional learning or language, literacy and numeracy support.
· Maintain the condition and presentation of training areas, equipment and resources.
· Report equipment faults, safety concerns, incidents or resource requirements promptly.
· Participate in validation, moderation, trainer meetings and continuous improvement activities.
· Participate in industry consultation and professional development activities where required.
· Maintain evidence of vocational competency, industry currency and trainer career development.
· Contribute positively to a cooperative and professional training team.
Compliance Responsibilities The Trainer / Facilitator is expected to understand and support Hi Reach Training’s obligations as a Registered Training Organisation.
Skills and Attributes The successful applicant will demonstrate:
· Strong communication and facilitation skills, with a practical and hands-on approach to training.
· The ability to engage participants with varying levels of industry experience.
· Reliability and good organisational skills.
· Attention to detail when completing RTO documentation.
· Confidence working independently and as part of a small training team.
· A professional and approachable manner when dealing with participants and other team members.
· The ability to manage and problem solve when delivering training in live work environments.
· Flexibility to deliver training at different locations when required.
· A commitment to teamwork, consistency and continuous improvement.
Additional Requirements
Applicants should hold
· Current Driver Licence
· Appropriate evidence to demonstrate competency in the units delivered
· Current TAE40116 or equivalent evidence
