About the role

Reporting to the Executive Manager Finance, the Finance Manager is primarily responsible for leading, managing and developing a small team to deliver on key functions: timely and accurate processing of financial transactions; implementation of systems and operational processes to ensure financial monitoring, accountability and compliance across the organisation; and delivery of high-quality customer service and support to the CEO, Executive Team, employees and contractors, contributing to the effective operation of Regional Office services.

Salary up to $135,500 gross per annum + super (depending on qualifications and experience)

Key responsibilities

- Lead the day-to-day operational management of the finance team services, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
- Lead, manage and develop the Finance team to achieve a sustainable service for the organisation.




- Ensuring the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions, including the preparation of financial accounts through to trial balance
- Oversee recruitment to maintain team FTE.
- Provide day to day supervision and oversight to ensure the team is operating effectively. Troubleshoot day to day operational issues, proactively identify issues and put in place strategies to address.
- Guide and coach finance staff to enhance financial literacy and enable staff to continue to grow in their roles.
- Lead the team to process the full scope of financial transactions achieving timeliness and a high standard of accuracy.
- Ensure the computerised accounting processes are completed, including: generation of purchase orders and payment of invoices, general payments, receipting payments, electronic funds transfers etc.
- Reconcile databases bank balances, balance sheet accounts, suppliers and petty cash for each period and annually.
- Maintain the general ledger through to trial balance stage.
- Develop, implement and monitor appropriate financial systems, procedures and internal controls to support the effective and effective operation of the finance functions.
- Contributing to the effective and efficient operation of Regional Office services.

About you

- Minimum Certificate IV in Finance or accounting with demonstrated work experience in financial team management, financial systems, audit requirements and processing,



including preparation of financial accounting up to trial balances.
- Demonstrated experience in people management with demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to develop a collaborative team approach in a multidisciplinary team environment and ability to teach and mentor team members.
- Strong demonstrated knowledge of accounting software and ability to establish internal systems fit for purpose in a complex, regional, multi team Non-Government Organisation setting.
- Strong organisational and analytical skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated experience working collaboratively with a range of disciplines and across teams.
- Demonstrated self-starter with the proven ability to work with limited supervision, managing competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Current Driver's License and willing to drive in the course of work activities.
- Subject to successful probation period, satisfactory National Police History Check and cleared NSW Working with Children Check.
