We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team and contribute to delivering exceptional food and service in a purpose-driven environment. Learn more about YWCA here .

About this prospect
n
As a Chef de Partie, you will play an important role in supporting our kitchen operations and delivering high-quality food experiences for our guests. You will work closely with the culinary team to ensure food is prepared to the highest standards while maintaining consistency, quality, and efficiency.
n
Key duties and reasonability are:
n
n
- Plan, prepare, and cook high-quality dishes for breakfast and dinner services in accordance with menu standards and guest expectations.
n
- Manage and oversee the assigned kitchen section, ensuring all food preparation, cooking, and presentation are completed to the highest possible standard.
n
- Collaborate with the Chef de Cuisine and kitchen team to develop menus, introduce new dishes, and improve food presentation techniques.
n
- Assist with menu planning, food preparation requirements, and estimating food and labour costs to support efficient kitchen operations.
n
- Monitor the quality, consistency, and presentation of dishes throughout all stages of preparation and service.
n
- Ensure all meals are prepared and delivered in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of taste,
appearance, and portion control.
n
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes across different cuisines, including grill, sauté, and preparation station duties during busy service periods.
n
- Maintain strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations across all food storage and preparation areas.
n
- Ensure proper handling, storage, preservation, and preparation of food products in accordance with industry standards.
n
- Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house teams to address food preparation requirements and ensure smooth service delivery.
n
- Provide guidance, demonstrate cooking techniques, and support the training and development of junior kitchen staff.
n
- Assist with selecting and training kitchen staff when required.
n
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient workstation at all times.
n
- Support kitchen operations during high-volume services, special functions, and events.
n
- Adapt to changing service requirements and contribute positively within a diverse and fast-paced kitchen environment.
n
- Work independently and collaboratively as part of a professional culinary team.
n
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the Manager or Chef de Cuisine.
n

To thrive in this role, you will bring:
n
n
- A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent experience in a professional kitchen environment.
n
- 1 to 3 years' experience in a Chef de Partie or similar culinary role.
n
- The ability to respond professionally to customer feedback and use insights to continuously improve service delivery.
n
- Experience preparing high-quality food across breakfast, dinner and catering services.
n
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety, hygiene requirements and workplace health and safety standards.
n
- Well-developed communication and teamwork skills,
with the ability to collaborate effectively across kitchen and operational teams.
n
- A positive, approachable and supportive style that contributes to an inclusive team culture.
n
- A proactive and self-motivated approach, with a commitment to achieving high standards.
n
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement.
n
