Landscape Elements is seeking an experienced Business Manager to take ownership of Waterlink, our commercial irrigation division.

This is not simply a project management or site supervision position. We are looking for someone who understands how to run and develop a business - someone who can lead people, manage commercial performance, strengthen client relationships and build Waterlink into a larger, stronger and more sustainable operation.

Waterlink operates alongside it's sister company Landscape Elements, an established Western Australian business with approximately 120 employees across four operational departments. The successful applicant will have the support and resources of the broader company while being given the autonomy and accountability to lead Waterlink as their own business unit.

The role

Reporting to the General Manager of Operations, you will have overall responsibility for the performance and development of Waterlink.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing transparent leadership and direction to the Waterlink team.
- Taking ownership of the division’s financial, operational and commercial performance.
- Developing and implementing a practical business growth strategy.
- Managing revenue, gross profit, forecasting, cash flow and project performance.
- Building a strong pipeline of profitable work.
- Maintaining and developing relationships with clients, contractors, consultants and suppliers.
- Overseeing estimating, tendering, contract review and project delivery.
- Ensuring projects are properly planned, resourced and commercially controlled.
- Developing capable people and building a positive, accountable team culture.
- Establishing effective systems, reporting and performance standards.
- Identifying new clients, markets and business opportunities.
- Managing risk while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and client service.
- Working closely with the Landscape Elements leadership team to achieve broader company objectives.

About you

We are looking for a commercially minded leader who can see the bigger picture while remaining close enough to the operation to understand what is really happening.

You will ideally bring:

- Experience managing and developing a business, division or significant operational department.




- Strong commercial and financial understanding.
- Demonstrated experience growing revenue while protecting profitability.
- The ability to build, lead and hold a team accountable.
- Experience with project-based, construction, irrigation or contracting businesses.
- Strong skills in estimating, contracts, project delivery and commercial management.
- Confidence dealing with clients and developing new business.
- The ability to make decisions, take ownership and have difficult conversations when required.
- A practical, hands-on leadership style.
- A strong focus on safety, quality and long-term business sustainability.

Commercial irrigation experience would be highly regarded; however, we are equally interested in candidates from related construction, civil, landscaping, plumbing or contracting backgrounds who have a proven ability to successfully lead and grow a business unit.
