Role Description The Head Educator – Abacus is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of Abacus, Vedic Maths, and Mental Maths programs at Genius Abacus. This on-site position, based in Sydney, NSW, involves leading a team of instructors, conducting training and mentoring sessions, and ensuring teaching standards and methodologies are consistently applied in all classes.

The Head

Educator will develop and refine lesson plans, observe classroom sessions, provide feedback, and model best-practice teaching techniques.



The role also includes collaborating with management on curriculum updates, supporting teacher training and franchise partners, engaging with families to discuss learner progress, and maintaining a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Education and Teaching, with experience in math-focused or skills-based learning environments.

- Proficiency in Lesson Planning, including structuring progressive, age-appropriate content for Abacus and related math programs.

- Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to engage children, guide educators, and build trust with parents and guardians.

- Demonstrated Training experience, including coaching, mentoring, or onboarding educators in instructional methods and classroom management.

- Relevant educational qualifications (e.g., degree or diploma in Education, Mathematics, or a related field); formal teaching certification is highly beneficial.

- Experience working with children in group learning settings and a commitment to child-safe, inclusive practices.

- Robust organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage schedules, resources, and multiple classes or centers.

- Interest or prior exposure to Abacus, Vedic Maths, or Mental Maths programs is an advantage, with willingness to complete internal training.
