About the role The Head Rowing Coach is a key coaching leadership position within the College's co-curricular sport program, responsible for the technical and coaching leadership of the girls' rowing program. Working with the Rowing Coordinator, coaches and boat maintenance staff, the Head Rowing Coach sets the direction of the training program, develops the coaching team and builds a culture of excellence, participation and inclusivity across all year levels.

Key responsibilities

- Support the Catholic ethos of the College and act in a manner supportive of its mission.
- Oversee the coaching of the girls' rowing programs, providing technical direction and consistency across all year levels.
- Design and implement a progressive land and water training program that meets the needs of all rowers.
- Lead, develop and mentor the coaching team,



allocating coaches to ensure optimal coach-to-rower ratios.
- Build a culture of excellence, commitment and inclusivity, where rowers support one another across crews and year levels.
- Ensure a high standard of duty of care and water safety at all training sessions, regattas, camps and tours.
- Maintain effective communication with rowers, parents, coaches, College staff and the wider rowing community.
- Lead and support coaches, clearly communicating training priorities for land and water sessions.
- Develop the seasonal training program for all year levels, including pre-season preparation for the season.
- Ensure performance and attendance data is collected to track athlete progress and inform crew selections.

About you

- Current Working with Children Card and Senior First Aid Certificate (essential).
- Recreational Skipper's Ticket and current C Class Driver's Licence (essential).
- Extensive rowing coaching experience, including developing land and water training programs (essential).
- Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring and developing coaches (essential).
- Active support of the Catholic ethos of the College (essential).
- A genuine passion for rowing and the ability to develop positive relationships with young people (essential).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills (essential).
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively with all stakeholders (essential).
- Ability to remain calm, manage priorities and problem solve in a fast-paced workplace (essential).
- Sound judgement in water safety and risk management (essential).
