Role Description This full-time, on-site Horticulturist role is based at Wombine Wholesale Nursery in Cowra, NSW. The Horticulturist will oversee the care, growth, and maintenance of nursery stock, including planting, pruning, fertilizing, and pest and disease monitoring.

Responsibilities include maintaining outdoor and greenhouse areas, operating and monitoring irrigation systems, and ensuring plants meet quality standards for wholesale customers. The role involves planning and implementing landscape and bed layouts within the nursery, keeping accurate records of plant health and inventory, and following workplace health and safety procedures. The Horticulturist will lead/collaborate with nursery team members, support order preparation, and assist with general nursery operations as needed.

Qualifications

- Solid practical skills in Gardening and Landscape Maintenance to manage plant care and nursery grounds.
- Knowledge of Botany to identify plant species,



understand growth requirements, and diagnose plant health issues.
- Experience with Irrigation systems to schedule, operate, and troubleshoot watering programs for diverse plant stock.
- Applied Landscaping skills to plan and maintain functional, aesthetically pleasing nursery displays and growing areas.
- Relevant qualification in horticulture or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Ability to perform manual outdoor work in varying weather conditions and safely use horticultural tools and equipment.
- Good attention to detail, record-keeping skills, and the ability to follow nursery protocols and safety guidelines.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with colleagues and support nursery operations.
