About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and passionate House Coordinator to lead the day-to-day operations of a new Supported Independent Living (SIL) home opening in Blackburn in October.
Reporting to the Home Supports Manager, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring participants receive high-quality, person-centred supports while maintaining compliance with NDIS Practice Standards and Alkira's service requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior Disability Support Worker, Team Leader, House Supervisor, or existing Coordinator looking to further develop their leadership career in disability services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and support a team of Disability Support Workers
- Coordinate day-to-day house operations and service delivery
- Promote positive participant outcomes through person-centred practices
- Support participants to achieve their individual goals and maximise independence
- Build and maintain strong relationships with families, guardians and external stakeholders
- Oversee incidents, risk management, safeguarding and reporting requirements
- Monitor compliance with NDIS Practice Standards,
organisational policies and regulatory requirements
- Ensure documentation, records and reporting are completed accurately and within required timeframes
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and quality outcomes across Home Supports
About You To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Extensive experience within disability, community services, health or a related sector
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong understanding of person-centred practice
- Knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards and quality requirements
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong organisational, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Experience managing compliance requirements, documentation and reporting processes
- Confidence leading teams through change and continuous improvement initiatives
- Certificate IV in Disability (minimum); Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (preferred)
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Victorian Driver Licence
- Current First Aid level 2 and CPR Certificates
- Evidence of your right to work in Australia
