We're looking for an experienced Investments Business Analyst to help shape and deliver complex investment transformation initiatives across systems, data, processes and operating models. Working across Investments, Operations and Technology, you'll act as a trusted adviser and subject matter specialist, translating complex investment needs into practical solutions that improve capability, data quality, controls and operational efficiency.
About the role:
- Lead business analysis across complex investment and technology transformation initiatives.
- Analyse and redesign end-to-end investment processes, from portfolio construction and implementation through trade execution and settlement.
- Elicit and translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Analyse investment product data and front-to-back data flows to support solution and process design.
- Partner with portfolio management, trading, investment operations, technology, architecture, data and testing teams.
- Influence senior stakeholders, challenge assumptions and provide evidence-based recommendations.
- Maintain requirements traceability through design, development, testing, implementation and benefits realisation.
- Support PMS and/or OMS implementations and enhancements, including testing, implementation and change activities.
- Identify risks, dependencies and downstream impacts early and help drive effective resolution.
What we are looking for:
- An accomplished Business Analyst with a strong understanding of investment management environments.
- You'll be comfortable operating between investment specialists and technology teams, turning complex requirements into clear, actionable outcomes.
- Experience delivering technology-enabled change within financial services, preferably superannuation, investment management or asset management.
- Strong knowledge of the full investment lifecycle, including direct portfolios and overlays.
- Sound investment product knowledge and an understanding of front-to-back investment systems and data flows.
- Strong requirements elicitation, process mapping, data analysis, user story, acceptance criteria and traceability skills.
- Experience engaging investment, operations and technology stakeholders as well as vendors and implementation partners.
- Strong critical thinking, communication and stakeholder-influencing capability.
- The initiative and judgement to work independently in a complex project environment.
- Experience implementing or supporting a Portfolio Management System (PMS) or Order Management System (OMS) will be highly regarded, particularly where it includes fixed income products, workflows and operational controls.
Highly regarded:
- A strong understanding of investment management environments including detailed knowledge of the full trade lifecycle.
This is an opportunity to play an influential role in significant investment transformation work. You'll help shape decisions across investment systems,
processes and data while working with senior stakeholders to deliver sustainable improvements to investment capability and the broader operating environment. If you're an experienced Investments Business Analyst who combines strong investment domain knowledge with technology transformation expertise, we'd like to hear from you.
