Drive Finance Excellence in a Growing Global Organisation An exciting and attractive opportunity has become available for an experienced Finance Manager with Japanese language skill to join a growing international business headquartered in Brisbane.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role offers the opportunity to lead finance operations, strengthen financial controls, drive process transformation, and partner with senior stakeholders across the business. Managing a finance team across Australia and overseas, this is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys both operational and strategic finance responsibilities as well as reporting partner Japanese company.
The Opportunity
This role will play a key part in modernising and scaling the finance function by improving processes, enhancing systems utilisation, and developing team capability. You will work closely with executive leaders and business stakeholders to provide financial insights that support business performance and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Controls
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare accurate and timely management reports
- Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed and maintained
- Coordinate external audit and taxation requirements
- Strengthen internal controls and financial governance
Systems & Process Improvement
- Optimise ERP and financial systems
- Streamline reporting processes and reduce manual workarounds
- Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Improve finance processes to support future business growth
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and develop a small finance team
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance management
- Build team capability and promote a culture of accountability
Budgeting,
Forecasting & Business Partnering
- Support annual budgeting and planning processes
- Develop and maintain forecasting models
- Partner with operational and commercial stakeholders
- Provide financial analysis and decision-support to management
Stakeholder Management
- Act as a key finance contact for internal and external stakeholders
- Oversee reporting, reconciliations, and financial compliance activities
- Build strong working relationships across the organisation
About You To be successful, you will be a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys operating in a dynamic environment and driving positive change.
Requirements
- CA or CPA qualification
- Proven experience in financial reporting, financial control, and statutory compliance
- Robust month-end and year-end close experience
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting skills
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing staff
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working across multiple entities and/or international operations
