Goodwin is seeking a dedicated Laundry Assistant to join our Residential Aged Care team. In this role, you will provide essential laundry and housekeeping services that help maintain a safe, comfortable and dignified environment for our residents.

You will primarily work at a designated Goodwin residential aged care facility; however, you may occasionally be required to work across other Goodwin facilities in response to operational and resident needs.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver high-quality laundry and housekeeping services in accordance with resident needs and organisational standards.
- Sort, wash, dry, fold and distribute residents’ clothing, linen and other laundry items.
- Complete allocated duties efficiently through effective organisation and prioritisation.
- Maintain accurate laundry records and service schedules.
- Ensure resident rooms and designated areas are serviced according to established requirements.
- Clean washing machines and dryers daily and ensure equipment remains free from lint build-up.
- Use laundry equipment, cleaning products and chemicals safely and correctly.




- Identify and promptly report incidents, hazards, damaged items, equipment faults or other concerns to management.
- Communicate with residents respectfully and support their privacy, dignity and individual preferences.
- Contribute to continuous improvement across laundry, housekeeping and resident-support services.
- Comply with relevant legislation, Work Health and Safety requirements, infection-control practices, and Goodwin policies and procedures.
- Maintain a professional standard of presentation and customer service at all times.
- Undertake other duties reasonably associated with the position and its inherent requirements.

About You

You will be a reliable and attentive team member who takes pride in delivering high-quality services. You will also demonstrate:

- Previous experience delivering laundry services.
- Experience completing housekeeping or cleaning duties.
- Knowledge of safe laundry, cleaning and infection-control practices.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- The ability to organise tasks, meet schedules and work with limited supervision.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently and contribute positively as part of a team.
- Respect for residents’ dignity, privacy, cultural backgrounds and individual preferences.
- Adaptability and a positive approach to changing operational requirements.
- High ethical standards, trustworthiness and an understanding of confidentiality.

Qualifications and Experience

- A Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Aged Care or Community Services would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Previous experience in aged care, housekeeping, commercial cleaning or commercial laundry services will be highly regarded.
