Position Description

Position Title Learning Enrichment Teacher (Senior School)

Reporting Manager Head of Learning Enrichment Senior School

Role Purpose All teachers have the responsibility to support Danebank’s aspiration and intent, upholding its core values and Christian foundation.

The Learning Enrichment Teacher, as part of a wider Learning Enrichment

Team, will work with Senior School Students in, identifying students’

learning needs and administering and coordinating support programs for students.

The Learning Enrichment teacher delivers an inspiring and differentiated learning program through high quality teaching in order to develop deep understanding and develop students as reflective and powerful learners.

The teacher ensures professional compliance, supports policy and follows school procedures and systems.

Every teacher is expected to be involved in the learning, student care,





outdoor education and co-curricular programs as these are pivotal to the holistic development of each student.

Specific Duties and

Responsibilities

Actively support the Christian ethos of the school, modelling a Christian example in all activities.

Create inclusive, safe and supportive learning environments that model

Christian world views.

Teaching and Learning

- Maintain a sound understanding of the content and structure of

the NESA curriculum and contemporary learning.
- Support students to learn how to learn, developing individuals as

self directed, powerful learners.
- Plan and teach well-sequenced teaching and learning programs

that engage students and promote learning.
- Provide rigorous academic learning, supporting students to achieve

their personal best and pursue learning growth through personalisation of learning.
- Implement best practice teaching and learning strategies

appropriate to the learning of the girls.
- Monitor and assess student learning and growth and analyse data

to inform and improve teaching practice.
- Maintain all administrative records to a high standard including

programmes and registers, attendance, wellbeing, NCCD, assessment and reports.
- Review and action incoming student referrals.
- Create and update student Individual Adjustment Plans.
- Lead small group instruction and work collaboratively with teachers

in the classroom.
- Support classroom teachers in the implementation of personalised

learning plans.
- Assist with the NCCD process in conjunction with the Head of

Learning Enrichment.
- Assist with exam provisions for students with identified needs
- Attend parent/teacher interviews, stage, faculty, and school

meetings as required.
- Lead small group instruction.
- Adapt lessons for individual students under the guidance of their

subject teachers.

Professional Development

- Share knowledge and resources, develop skills and ensure best

practice principles are applied across the Junior School and Danebank’s skilled learning community.
- Actively seek appropriate and timely professional development.
- Engage in the regular performance appraisal process and

professional development practices of the school.
- Participate in accreditation processes.

Wellbeing

- Adhere to a holistic approach to student learning, engaging with

the school’s Becoming Framework for student development.
- Work in collaboration with Stage Coordinators and departmental

colleagues to address student management and behavioural issues.
- Work collaboratively to deliver the Student Wellbeing programs,

refer students to specialist staff where required and liaise with middle leaders as appropriate.
- Establish rapport with students and provide ongoing

encouragement to support students’ emotional and social wellbeing.
- Maintain skilled confidentiality on information about

students.
- Provide the appropriate duty of care and supervision of students.

Communication and Engagement

- Establish and maintain effective and respectful relationships with

students, staff and parents.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers.
- Plan and participate in excursions.




- Respond to parent enquiries regarding curriculum and student

matters in a timely manner to ensure positive outcomes for student learning.
- Prepare meaningful feedback and reports regularly to students and

parents.
- Be available to assist students out of class where needed, via

negotiation between teacher and students.
- Attend chapel services
- Attend other School events (e.g. theatre productions) and maintain

an active connection with the broader community. Any other duties as may be required by the Principal and/or Deputy

Principal Senior School.

Key Competencies, Skills and/ or Experience

- A commitment to the Christian mission of Danebank,

demonstrating a commitment to Christian teaching practice.

- Expertise and experience in teaching and supporting student in

years 7-12
- Ability to deliver effective pedagogy in an innovative and engaging

manner.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work

collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
- Professional and personal integrity.

- Proactive and innovative.
- Technologically literate and experienced in the integration of

technology into every aspect of students’ learning.
- Willingness to actively engage in co-curricular activities.
- Commitment to personal and professional development.
- Experience in administering and applying for NESA exam provisions

(desirable).
- Experience and knowledge of the Nationally Consistent Collection

of Data process.
- Knowledge of Disability Standards for Education and Disability

Discrimination Act

- Experience working with students who have a learning difficulty or

disability. Essential Qualifications Qualification in education

- Accredited with NESA
- Working with Children check required
- Relevant tertiary degree and teaching qualifications specialising in
