We are looking for a qualified and experienced Light Vehicle Mechanic / Automotive Technician to join our busy automotive workshop in Chinchilla.
We are a locally owned and operated business with a strong customer base and a reputation for providing quality workmanship, honest advice and reliable service.

About the Role
Working as part of a small and experienced team, you will carry out a wide variety of servicing, diagnostic and mechanical repair work across different makes and models.
Your duties will include
- Logbook and general vehicle servicing
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Brake, steering and suspension repairs
- Cooling system repairs
- Clutch and driveline repairs
- Battery and charging system testing
- Vehicle inspections
- Preventative maintenance
- General mechanical repairs
- Using diagnostic equipment and scan tools
- Identifying additional repairs or maintenance requirements
- Providing accurate information to the service team
- Completing jobs efficiently and to a high standard
- Maintaining accurate job card information
- Ensuring vehicles are treated with care
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop
About You
We are looking for someone who is reliable, capable and takes pride in their workmanship.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
- Previous experience working as a qualified mechanic
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Strong mechanical knowledge
- Good diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work well within a small team
- Good attention to detail
- Strong time-management skills
- A positive and professional attitude
- Good communication skills
- A commitment to quality workmanship
- A strong focus on workplace safety
Experience with diagnostic equipment and working across a variety of makes and models will be highly regarded.
