About the role:
Reporting directly to our Maintenance and Reliability Manager, this qualified Maintenance Fitter will be part of our 3 person Maintenance team, providing end-to-end maintenance at our facility, with an emphasis on preventative maintenance.
Daily Tasks include:
- Following the preventive maintenance schedule to ensure machinery, equipment and facility are maintained.
- Inspect, reassemble, troubleshoot, repair, and replace malfunctioning parts or equipment.
- Fabrication, welding and machining work where required.
- Attend to machine/equipment breakdowns and undertake repairs.
- Record maintenance and corrective work in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (MEX)
- Keeping work areas and workshop clean and in a safe state.
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
- Certificate IV in Engineering - Mechanical Trade. (Australian recognised Mechanical Trades qualification only)
- Proven experience in a Mechanical Fitter role
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in breakdowns as well and preventive maintenance tasks
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Proven experience in assessing equipment conditions and making sound decisions on corrective actions
- A safety-oriented mindset with the ability to demonstrate safe behaviours in the workplace
- A strong understanding of pneumatics
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Unrestricted working rights within Australia
Desirable Skills and Knowledge:
- Experience in a primary food processing or food and beverage industry manufacturing workplace
- Welding experience - preferably TIG
- B Class Electrical Licence
- Forklift Licence
- Working at Heights and Enter and Work in Confined Spaces
- Understanding of 5S principles
- Familiar with HACCP & SQF compliance
