Male Disability Support Worker (SIL) – Evening & Sleepover Shifts

Engagement: Casual / ABN Required

Pay: AU$41.29 per hour – Regular Shift

Inactive Sleepover Rate: AU$15.00 per hour

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Male Disability Support Worker to provide shift coverage within a Supported Independent Living (SIL) home in Clyde North.

The role involves supporting a female participant with complex support needs and an established Behaviour Support Plan (BSP).

We are looking for someone who is patient, resilient, professional, and experienced in providing person-centred disability support. Experience supporting participants with complex behaviours and mental health support needs is highly regarded.

Consistency and reliability are very important for this role. We are looking for someone who can provide stable and ongoing availability over the next 6 months. Preference will be given to applicants who do not have extended holidays or significant planned leave during this period. If you already have planned leave, please advise us of the dates when applying.

SHIFTS REQUIRING COVERAGE

Evening Shift: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Sleep Over Shift - 10:00PM - 8:30 AM

SEPTEMBER

- 21–23 Sept — Evening + Sleepover
- 24 Sept — Sleepover only
- 30 Sept — Evening + Sleepover

OCTOBER

- 1 Oct — Sleepover only

NOVEMBER

- 5 Nov — Sleepover only
- 9–11 Nov — Evening + Sleepover
- 12 Nov — Sleepover only
- 16–18 Nov — Evening + Sleepover
- 19 Nov — Sleepover only

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with daily living activities and personal support
- Support community access and participation
- Follow care plans and Behaviour Support Plans (BSP)
- Maintain accurate shift notes and handovers




- Provide emotional support and companionship
- Promote participant independence, choice, dignity, and wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with the wider support team
- Maintain professional boundaries
- Ensure participant safety and wellbeing at all times

Essential Requirements This position requires a male support worker due to the participant’s individual support needs and preferences.

- Previous disability support experience
- Experience working within Supported Independent Living (SIL)
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Experience with complex behaviours is highly preferred
- Mental health support experience is highly regarded
- Ability to follow Behaviour Support Plans
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, professional, patient, and compassionate
- Available for evening and inactive sleepover shifts
- Active ABN – Required
