About the role
As our Management Accountant, you will prepare accurate and timely financial and management accounts, supporting monthly Board reporting, statutory and end-of-year financial accounts, and compliance and statistical reporting obligations. It is a broad, hands-on role where technical accuracy and attention to detail are critical. Working directly with our Group Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in maintaining sound accounting policies, standards and internal controls appropriate to a publicly listed company.
You'll also oversee key financial administration processes, administer our ERP system, and collaborate with our US finance team and UK external consultants to ensure consistent group financial reporting.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare accurate end-of-month and end-of-year financial accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, capital expenditure and consolidation of foreign subsidiaries.
- Prepare monthly Board and management accounts, including variance analysis and reporting on actual performance against budget.
- Support the annual audit, R&D; tax incentive claim and taxation return processes with external consultants and auditors.
- Prepare statistical and compliance reports, including BAS, and ensure PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax, workcover and FBT obligations are met by their due dates.
- Review and approve accounts receivable and accounts payable, purchase orders and weekly payment runs, and manage the company's capital asset register.
- Administer and maintain the ERP system, including user access, security and process improvements.
- Collaborate with our US finance team and UK external consultants to ensure consistent group financial reporting and consolidation practices.
About you
- CA / CPA / ACCA qualified, with more than 5 years' accounting experience.
- Experience preparing management accounts and statutory reporting in a commercial environment, ideally manufacturing.
- Sound technical knowledge of accounting practices, standards and procedures, including AASB 16.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems, ideally Pronto, including system administration and user access management (desirable).
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across global finance teams.
- Experience with corporate finance valuations and consolidation of foreign subsidiaries (desirable).
- High-level computer literacy, including strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience with data output tools.
