Overview
MoTeC, a Bosch company, is a global leader in specialist automotive electronics and technology for the motorsport industry. We are looking for a commercially minded Management Accountant to join our close-knot finance team and play an important role in supporting business performance and growth.
Working closely with the Finance Manager and operational teams, you will provide financial analysis, reporting and commercial insights across budgeting, forecasting, cost control and year-end reporting.
This is a hands-on role offering genuine ownership, exposure across the business and the opportunity to make a real impact within a growing, stable global organisation.
Located at MoTeC’s R&D; Headquarters in Clayton, Melbourne, the role offers a supportive team environment, flexible working arrangements and excellent long-term career opportunities.
Position Requirements
Management Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Analyse financial performance against budgets, forecasts and prior periods.
- Investigate significant variances and provide clear explanations and recommendations.
- Develop meaningful financial insights to support management decision-making.
- Prepare monthly reporting packs for the Head Office of the parent company.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Coordinate the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
- Work with department managers to develop realistic budgets and financial plans.
- Monitor performance against budget and identify emerging risks and opportunities.
- Assist with long-term financial planning and business modelling.
Cost & Performance Management
- Analyse product, project, labour and operating costs.
- Monitor margins,
overheads and cost drivers.
- Support cost-control initiatives and identify opportunities for efficiencies.
- Assist with inventory, working capital and cash-flow analysis.
- Analyse financial impacts of current projects, products and commercial opportunities.
Financial Control & Compliance
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure the integrity of financial information.
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Support external audit, tax and statutory reporting requirements.
- Ensure accounting policies and procedures are consistently applied.
About You
You will be an analytical, commercially focused finance professional who enjoys understanding why the numbers are changing, not simply reporting what they are.
You will have
- Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
- Several years' experience in management accounting, financial accounting or a similar commercial finance role.
- Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team.
- A flexible and 'can-do' attitude
Desirable Experience Experience in one or more of the following would be advantageous:
- Manufacturing or engineering environments.
- Technology or software businesses.
- Inventory and supply-chain accounting.
- Budgeting and forecasting.
- International or multi-entity organisations.
