FULL TIME - 5 YEAR CONTRACT

Reporting to the General Manager Infrastructure & Environment, the Manager Assets will lead Council’s asset management function through the development and implementation of contemporary asset management planning.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead and inspire a team of asset management and sustainability professionals to achieve strategic asset renewal and programmed maintenance in manner which is socially and ecologically responsible for the Mount Barker community.

· Develop, review and implement Council’s asset management framework across the organisation including strategies, policies and procedures to support good governance.

· Ensure Council’s asset register is kept up to date with regular asset condition auditing and revaluations to inform annual financial statements and longer-term plans.





· Lead the implementation of environmental sustainability actions and programs through an asset planning approach to influence planned projects and operations to maximise environmental perks and return on investment.

About you

· Positive and energetic leadership style, being able to work across the organisation well and working effectively with stakeholders.

· Strong communication skills, building relationships and rapport, approaching complex problems with alternative thinking and understanding are must have traits in this position.

· Formal qualifications in Asset Management (or related discipline) and/or significant experience in a related leadership position

· Demonstrated experience in the preparation and implementation of Asset Management Plans as they relate to infrastructure assets.
