About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Workplace Project Manager to oversee the planning and delivery of workplace, construction, fit-out and property-related projects across a major public infrastructure environment.

This is a hands-on project delivery position, suited to someone comfortable operating between corporate stakeholders, contractors, consultants and active project sites. You will take ownership of project outcomes from planning and procurement through to delivery, commissioning and close-out.

The role offers the opportunity to work on projects that directly support a large operational organisation while managing multiple competing priorities across scope, cost, schedule, quality, safety, risk and stakeholder expectations.

Position: Workplace Project Manager
Pay Rate: $650–$750 per day + super
Location: Parramatta office and project sites across Sydney
Working Arrangement: Predominantly onsite | 1–2 days Parramatta office | 3–4 days project sites | Limited WFH
Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours a week
Start Date: ASAP, subject to required checks
Duration: 6 months from commencement

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the end-to-end delivery of workplace, construction, refurbishment and fit-out projects.
- Establish project plans, delivery methodologies, milestones, budgets and resource requirements.
- Manage project scope and ensure agreed outcomes remain aligned with business requirements.
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, tracking progress against key milestones and dependencies.
- Monitor project expenditure,



forecasts, commitments and financial performance.
- Coordinate procurement activities, contractor engagement and commercial processes.
- Manage contracts, variations, claims, deliverables and contractor performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Apply appropriate project governance, reporting and assurance practices across assigned projects.
- Identify, assess and actively manage project risks, issues, dependencies and opportunities.
- Develop practical mitigation strategies and escalate matters where required.
- Coordinate consultants, contractors, internal teams and specialist service providers.
- Maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders and provide clear project updates.
- Facilitate project meetings, workshops and site coordination activities.
- Oversee project documentation, records, approvals, drawings and reporting requirements.
- Monitor construction and site activities to ensure delivery aligns with approved scope, quality and safety requirements.
- Support site access, stakeholder coordination and operational requirements associated with live environments.
- Ensure appropriate change control processes are followed for scope, schedule and budget adjustments.
- Monitor quality outcomes and coordinate defect identification, rectification and project close-out.
- Support commissioning, handover, asset information and transition into operational teams.
- Maintain accurate project records and ensure documentation is suitable for audit and governance purposes.
- Apply lessons learned and identify opportunities to improve project delivery processes.
- Coordinate competing priorities across multiple projects while maintaining delivery momentum.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure project activities comply with relevant legislation, policies and organisational standards.

About You

You will be an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in workplace, construction, property, fit-out, refurbishment or infrastructure project delivery.

You will ideally bring:

- 5+ years’ experience managing complex projects, with substantial project delivery experience highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience delivering construction, fit-out, refurbishment, workplace or infrastructure projects.
- Previous experience delivering projects within a government or highly regulated environment.
- Demonstrated responsibility for project scope, cost, schedule, risk, procurement, quality and stakeholder management.
- Strong understanding of construction and project delivery methodologies, including traditional or waterfall approaches.
- Experience managing contractors, consultants, suppliers and external delivery partners.
- Sound knowledge of contract administration, variations, commercial management and procurement processes.
- Experience working with NEC4 or similar contract frameworks is highly desirable.




- Strong project scheduling capability using tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera or equivalent.
- Experience with SAP project, procurement or financial management systems will be well regarded.
- Familiarity with risk management, safety systems, site access, drawings, maintenance and asset management platforms.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in construction management, project management, engineering, architecture, building, property or a related discipline.
- Construction Induction Card or equivalent.
- Professional membership with an appropriate industry body will be advantageous.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise project reports and executive updates.
- Confident negotiation, influencing and conflict resolution capabilities.
- Ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to project detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- High level of organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
- Strong understanding of workplace health, safety, environmental and compliance obligations.
- A proactive approach to identifying problems and implementing practical solutions.
- High level of integrity, accountability and professional judgement.
