B&W; Windows and Doors is a company based in Caringbah NSW 2229 specialising in the manufacture and installation of custom-made aluminium windows and doors for residential, commercial and strata projects.

B&W; Windows and Doors is now looking for an experienced Building Technician to join their team.

The right applicant will be responsible for:

- Supporting Project Managers and other construction professionals with the technical preparation, coordination and delivery of aluminium window and door projects.
- Reviewing architectural plans, construction documentation, specifications and relevant building requirements to identify the technical requirements applicable to each project.
- Producing technical sketches, detailed drawings and supporting documentation for custom aluminium window and door systems.
- Updating and amending drawings, schedules, elevations and technical details to reflect design changes, site conditions and approved project variations.
- Attending project sites to confirm dimensions, openings and installation conditions, and recording measurements required for fabrication and installation.
- Checking project dimensions and carrying out technical calculations relating to sizes, clearances, tolerances, quantities and material requirements.
- Comparing site conditions with approved drawings and identifying any inconsistencies that may affect manufacturing or installation.




- Liaising with project teams, production staff, installers, builders and suppliers to ensure technical information is communicated accurately throughout the project.
- Monitoring the progress of technical, manufacturing and installation activities to help ensure works are completed in accordance with project schedules and requirements.
- Checking fabricated components, materials and completed installation work to ensure they meet approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and applicable building requirements.
- Assisting with the preparation of material quantities, cost estimates and expected production and installation timeframes for individual projects.
- Maintaining accurate project records, including drawings, measurements, schedules, specifications, revisions and other technical documentation.

About you:

- At least 1 year of experience as a Building Technician;
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, construction plans and technical specifications.
- Strong measurement, numerical and technical calculation skills.
- High attention to detail when reviewing drawings, materials and installation requirements.
- Positive communication and coordination skills when liaising with project managers, installers, suppliers and other stakeholders.

Job Type: full-time, permanent;
Salary: $79,000 - $85,000
