We provide specialist marine maintenance, repair, and engineering services to the Defence, Commercial, Government sectors throughout Australia.
Due to significant growth within our Perth operations, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Mechanical Fitter to join our team based in Henderson, Western Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a highly skilled workforce delivering critical marine repair and maintenance projects across a diverse range of vessels and clients.
While this role is primarily based in Henderson, there may be opportunities and requirements to travel interstate to support project delivery as required.
About the Role
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a key role in the delivery of vessel repair, maintenance, refit, and engineering projects. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will apply your mechanical trade skills to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Essential Requirements To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Mechanical Trade Certificate.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Sound mechanical fitting experience and practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Positive attitude with strong communication skills.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Current Police Check (less than 30 days old).
- Australia Citizen
Desirable
- Previous ship repair, marine maintenance, or vessel refit experience.
- Experience working within Defence, Commercial, or Government marine environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical fitting, assembly, maintenance, repair, and rigging activities.
- Deliver high-quality workmanship in accordance with project requirements and specifications.
- Maintain daily communication with supervisors and management regarding work progress and issues.
- Work safely and effectively with minimal supervision.
- Comply with all workplace health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
- Apply sound troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve mechanical issues.
- Manage workloads effectively while meeting project deadlines and quality expectations.
