Weatherwatch is one of Australia's longest-running private weather companies, providing specialist forecasting, severe weather alerting and weather intelligence to organisations across Australia.

We're looking for a meteorologist who ????????? ????? ??????? and wants to work in an operational environment where their forecasts and advice are used to make real-world decisions.

This is a full-time role working alongside our meteorology and development teams.

You'll be involved across a broad range of operational meteorology, including short and medium-range forecasting, severe weather monitoring, client briefings, weather alerts and written reports.

You'll work with clients across industries including insurance, energy, emergency management, transport, infrastructure and major events, helping them understand not just what the weather will do, but what it means for their operations.

You'll also work closely with our development team on platforms such as HailTracker and MetCentre, helping us improve forecasting tools, severe weather detection, alerting and weather visualisation.

On any given day, you might be:

- Monitoring thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, damaging winds, hail, tropical cyclones and other significant weather events
- Preparing operational forecasts and briefings for clients
- Responding to client questions during high-impact weather
- Analysing radar, satellite, observational and numerical weather prediction data
- Producing written weather and climate reports




- Helping develop and improve Weatherwatch forecasting and alerting products
- Working directly with clients to understand their weather risks and operational requirements
- Contributing to presentations, training and educational material
- Creating meteorological content for social media and our website

First and foremost, you'll be joining a team that ????? ??? ???????? ???????, so we're looking for someone who shares that same passion.

You'll have a strong foundation in meteorology and be comfortable interpreting a wide range of weather data and numerical guidance.

We're looking for someone with:

- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science or a closely related field
- Strong forecasting and weather analysis skills
- A good understanding of severe weather processes
- Experience interpreting numerical weather prediction, radar,



satellite imagery and observational data
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- The ability to explain complex meteorological information clearly to non-meteorologists
- Positive attention to detail, particularly when working under time pressure
- A collaborative attitude and willingness to work closely with both meteorologists and software developers

Experience in operational forecasting, GIS, weather visualisation, climate analysis or commercial meteorology would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
