You will take responsibility for ARU's national business development performance and work closely with our Apprentice Employment Managers, Recruitment, Marketing and Operations teams. Your focus will be on creating sustainable growth by ensuring employer opportunities are converted into genuine apprentice and trainee commencements. The role also includes national oversight of business development pipelines, employer relationships, job orders and strategic accounts.
Key responsibilities
- Driving national apprentice and trainee commencement growth.
- Developing new host employer relationships and increasing placements with existing hosts.
- Building and managing a strong national pipeline of genuine job opportunities.
- Improving the conversion of job orders through to interviews, offers and commencements.
- Developing strategic relationships with major, multi-site and national employers.
- Identifying recent industries, regions and markets for growth.
- Working closely with Apprentice Employment Managers to drive business development outcomes and KPI performance.
- Coaching team members in sales, employer engagement, negotiation and opportunity conversion.
- Re-engaging suitable dormant host employers and expanding existing accounts.
- Monitoring national performance, identifying shortfalls and implementing corrective strategies.
About you
- Significant experience in business development, sales, account management or workforce development.
- A demonstrated record of achieving growth and commercial targets.
- Strong pipeline management and forecasting capability.
- Experience establishing, managing and reporting against KPIs.
- Strong negotiation, presentation and stakeholder-management skills.
- Commercial acumen and an outcomes-focused mindset.
- The ability to develop relationships with senior decision-makers.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working across geographically dispersed teams or markets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
