About the Position

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for writing and maintaining the application code that supports Quantum Pharma Australia's operations, together with the deployment pipelines and infrastructure that carry that code into production and keep it running reliably. The role spans software development and operational engineering: designing, coding, testing and documenting applications and interfaces, automating build, test and release processes, provisioning and monitoring the cloud and on-premises environments the business depends on, and ensuring that every change is controlled, validated and traceable in line with the compliance obligations that apply to pharmaceutical manufacture. Because production scheduling, batch records, quality data and distribution all rely on these systems, the position is central to the continuity and integrity of the business, and the DevOps Engineer works closely with production, quality assurance and regulatory personnel to ensure that technology decisions support — rather than complicate — the company's regulatory position.

Key Responsibilities

- Write, test, debug,



document and maintain application code, scripts and services that support production scheduling, batch documentation, quality data capture, inventory and distribution functions.
- Design and develop software components and interfaces in accordance with agreed specifications, coding standards and version control practices.
- Build, maintain and improve continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines so that code moves from development through testing to production in a repeatable, auditable manner.
- Provision, configure and maintain cloud and on-premises infrastructure, including servers, containers, networking, storage and supporting services, using infrastructure-as-code tooling.
- Automate environment builds, deployments, database migrations and routine operational tasks to reduce manual intervention and the risk of human error.
- Implement and maintain automated testing at unit, integration and regression level, and enforce quality gates before any release is promoted to production.
- Monitor system performance, availability and capacity, configure alerting, and investigate and resolve production incidents through to root cause.
- Maintain backup, recovery and business continuity arrangements, and periodically test restoration procedures to confirm they work as documented.
- Apply security controls across the development lifecycle and the hosting environment, including access management, secrets management, patching, vulnerability remediation and audit logging.
- Ensure systems, records and audit trails meet data integrity requirements applicable to a regulated pharmaceutical environment, including controlled user access, electronic record retention and traceability of changes.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including system design records, configuration baselines, deployment runbooks, validation and qualification documentation and change records.
- Manage change control for software and infrastructure changes, including impact assessment, approval, implementation and post-implementation verification in conjunction with Quality Assurance.
- Develop and maintain integrations between internal applications and third-party systems used across manufacturing, laboratory, logistics and business administration functions.




- Provide technical support and guidance to internal users, and deliver training or written instructions where current systems or features are introduced.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices, tooling, environment architecture and operational procedures, and keep abreast of relevant technologies and compliance developments affecting the company's systems.

Requirements

- A Master of Information and Communication Technology, or an equivalent postgraduate qualification in computing, software engineering or information technology.
- A minimum of one year of academic or professional experience developing and implementing ICT software projects, specifically tailored to healthcare and radiopharmaceutical compliance frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to write, test and maintain production-quality application code in a mainstream programming language, together with scripting for automation, version control and code review practices, and automated build, test and release pipelines.
- Practical capability in infrastructure administration across cloud and on-premises environments, including Linux, containerisation, networking fundamentals, infrastructure-as-code tooling, and database design, querying and integration between systems.
- Experience configuring monitoring, logging and alerting, and the ability to diagnose and resolve production incidents methodically under time pressure.
- Sound understanding of application and infrastructure security, including access control, secrets management, patching and vulnerability remediation, and of validated computing environments — change control, computerised system validation, electronic records and data integrity as they apply to pharmaceutical manufacture.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail, a high standard of technical documentation that withstands audit, and excellent written and verbal English, including the ability to explain technical matters to production, quality and regulatory colleagues without a technical background.
- The ability to work collaboratively in a small multidisciplinary team and independently without close supervision, to prioritise competing demands and respond to urgent issues affecting time-critical production, and to maintain confidentiality and compliance with company policies and regulatory obligations; full-time work rights in Australia.
