The Opportunity

This is a unique prospect for an experienced higher education academic and creative industries professional to lead the next chapter of Creative Management education at JMC Academy.

Reporting to the Head of Faculty, Animation, Design & Leadership, the National Course Leader (Creative Management) will provide academic leadership across JMC Academy’s Bachelor of Entertainment Business Management and Diploma of Stage Management, setting and maintaining high standards across the national course offering.

Based at JMC Academy’s Brisbane campus, with regular travel across Sydney, Melbourne, the role combines national academic leadership with responsibility for course delivery and people leadership at the Brisbane campus.

Working collaboratively with faculty leaders, academics, industry partners and professional networks, you will:

- Lead the academic direction and quality of the Creative Management courses nationally
- Set national standards for teaching, assessment and academic outcomes
- Lead curriculum design and review, ensuring programs remain contemporary, relevant and aligned to the creative industries
- Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, innovation and technology-enhanced learning
- Lead and develop academic teams across multiple campuses
- Build strong relationships with industry partners, employers and Work Integrated Learning hosts
- Create opportunities for students to engage with practitioners, live projects, placements and career pathways
- Drive student engagement, retention, progression and graduate outcomes




- Represent JMC Academy across professional and industry networks nationally
- Contribute to international partnerships, course growth, marketing and future development
- Ensure academic quality, regulatory compliance and governance standards are maintained consistently across campuses

The role also provides the opportunity to lead the Brisbane-based academic team, supporting permanent, contract and sessional staff while working closely with Department Leads across the national course offering. This is an exciting opportunity for an academic leader who wants to make a visible and lasting contribution to both the student experience and the future of creative management education at JMC Academy.

About You

You are an experienced higher education academic and creative industries qualified with a strong creative management expertise. You understand the intersection of education, industry and employment outcomes.

You will bring

- A Master’s qualification or higher in a relevant creative management discipline, or equivalent demonstrated industry standing
- Significant professional and industry experience within the creative management discipline
- Substantial higher education teaching and course leadership experience
- Experience leading curriculum development, review and academic quality across multiple campuses




- Demonstrated experience leading academic teams and working collaboratively across a national or multi-campus environment
- Strong industry networks and a proven ability to develop meaningful partnerships, placements and graduate pathways
- An understanding of the Australian higher education regulatory environment, including TEQSA, ESOS, AQF and quality assurance requirements
- Strong commercial and organisational acumen, with an understanding of course viability, resources and growth
- A track record of, or strong commitment to, research, scholarship or creative practice
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and people leadership skills

Professionals with experience across arts management, entertainment business, stage management, production, touring, events or related creative management disciplines are encouraged to apply.
