Role: Network Engineer / Consultant (BIG-IP + DNS + Implementation)

Location: Sydney

Fulltime (Permanent)

Key Responsibilities

- Act as the primary F5 SME supporting the customer's F5 infrastructure environment.
- Design, implement, configure, and maintain F5 application delivery and security services.
- Manage platform lifecycle activities including upgrades, patches, migrations, and technology refresh initiatives.
- Ensure platform stability, availability, scalability, and performance.
- Perform capacity planning and platform optimization activities.
- Support high-availability and disaster recovery configurations.

Operational Support

- Provide Level 3 technical support for complex F5-related incidents and service requests.
- Troubleshoot and resolve critical application delivery and load-balancing issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective measures.
- Participate in major incident response and service restoration activities.
- Maintain operational runbooks and support documentation.

Design Reviews & Technical Governance

- Participate in solution design workshops and architecture review sessions.
- Validate technical designs against operational, security, and architectural standards.
- Review network, security, and application requirements for current service deployments.
- Provide technical recommendations and best-practice guidance to project and engineering teams.
- Support risk assessments and implementation planning activities.

Implementation & Project Delivery

- Lead F5 implementation activities across multiple projects and initiatives.
- Execute configuration changes, migrations, and platform deployment activities.




- Develop implementation plans, rollback procedures, and testing approaches.
- Support application onboarding and production release activities.
- Participate in maintenance windows and scheduled change activities.

Security & Compliance

- Ensure security controls are implemented in accordance with organizational standards.
- Support application security capabilities through F5 Advanced WAF / ASM.
- Implement traffic inspection, SSL services, and secure application delivery controls.
- Support audit, compliance, and vulnerability remediation activities.

Documentation & Process Improvement

- Create and maintain design documentation, operational procedures, and technical standards.
- Develop implementation guides and support playbooks.
- Identify opportunities for platform automation and operational improvement.
- Contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives.

- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and Automation.
- Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD integration practices.
- Understanding of Zero Trust Architecture and Secure Access principles.

Certifications (Preferred) One or more of the following:

- F5 Certified Administrator (F5-CA)
- F5 Certified Technical Specialist (F5-CTS)
- F5 Certified Solution Expert (F5-CSE)
- CCNP Enterprise
- CCNP Security
- CISSP
- Azure Network Engineer Associate

Experience Requirements

- Minimum 8 years of Network Security and Application Delivery experience.
- At least 5 years of hands-on F5 engineering and implementation experience.
- Proven experience delivering F5 deployment, migration, and transformation projects.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and customer-facing communication skills.
- Experience supporting business-critical production platforms and services.
