Gold Coast

.This is a great prospect for an Occupational Therapist who enjoys working autonomously in the community while still having the support of an experienced multidisciplinary team.

The role is focused on supporting older Australians to remain safe, confident and independent in their own homes, with an emphasis on practical, preventative and person-centred care.

The Role

Working as a Mobile Community Occupational Therapist, you’ll manage a community-based caseload across the Gold Coast and work directly with clients in their homes.

Your responsibilities will include

- Completing functional and home environment assessments

- Recommending assistive equipment and home modifications

- Supporting falls prevention and risk reduction

- Developing individualised strategies to improve independence and safety

- Supporting clients to maintain function and remain living at home

- Working collaboratively with nurses, care partners and other allied health professionals

- Providing education and recommendations to clients, families and other stakeholders

The service has a strong focus on prevention, early intervention and reablement, rather than simply responding once a client’s function has declined.

Who I'm Looking For

I’d love to speak with Occupational Therapists who have:

- Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist

- Strong communication and clinical reasoning skills

- Full Australian work rights
- The confidence to work autonomously within a community setting
- An interest in older persons' health, rehabilitation,

home modifications or community care
- A current Australian driver's licence and access to a vehicle

Both experienced Occupational Therapists and new graduates are encouraged to apply, with support and professional development available.

What’s On Offer?

There are some excellent benefits attached to this opportunity, including:

- Full-time and part-time options

- Manageable caseloads with a focus on quality clinical outcomes

- Fuel rebate to support community travel

- Up to $1,000 annual CPD allowance

- Access to internal training and regular professional development

- Up to 35% off private health insurance, plus additional insurance discounts

- 14 weeks paid parental leave for eligible employees

- Employee wellbeing initiatives and EAP support

- Online fitness and wellbeing programs

- Discounts across entertainment, travel, hotels and attractions

- Genuine opportunities for career progression within a growing national healthcare organisation

Most importantly, this is an opportunity to join a growing service where you can build strong relationships with clients and see the direct impact your work has on their ability to remain independent at home.

Interested? If you’re an Occupational Therapist based on the Gold Coast, or considering a move to the area, I’d be happy to have a confidential conversation and provide more information about the organisation, team, caseload and opportunity. Email your CV to Sam at [email protected].
