Based on the role brief, the position will focus on policy drafting, uplift, optimisation and rationalisation of approximately 70 policies, with a robust governance and operational lens rather than an HR policy focus.

Your New Role

As the Operational Policy Officer, you will lead the review and rationalisation of a large policy library, identifying opportunities to streamline, consolidate and modernise existing documentation. You will engage with stakeholders across the business to understand operational requirements, draft clear and practical policies, and ensure governance documentation aligns with organisational needs.

Key responsibilities include:

- Reviewing and rationalising approximately 70 existing policies.
- Drafting, updating and improving operational and governance policies.
- Identifying opportunities to consolidate overlapping policies into overarching frameworks.




- Recommending when content should be translated into guidelines, procedures or processes.
- Partnering with stakeholders to gather requirements and scope policy improvements.
- Ensuring policies are clear, practical, compliant and fit for purpose.
- Working autonomously while maintaining strong collaboration across the organisation.

What You'll Need to Succeed To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Demonstrated experience developing, reviewing or rationalising policies within a governance, compliance or operational environment.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and consultation skills.
- Exceptional written communication and policy drafting capability.
- The ability to work independently and confidently manage a sizeable body of work.
- Experience translating complex information into clear and practical policy documentation.
- A proactive, accountable and solutions-focused approach.
- Previous governance, compliance, higher education, public sector or regulated industry experience will be highly regarded.
