Operations Coordinator | Electrical, Data & Drafting

GAP Industries is looking for an experienced Electrical Operations Coordinator with drafting experience to join our growing team. This is a technical operations role combining project coordination, technician scheduling, job management and AutoCAD drafting across electrical and communications projects. Previous drafting experience is essential.

About the Role

Your responsibilities will include:

- Coordinating daily electrical, data, maintenance and project operations
- Scheduling electricians, technicians, subcontractors and equipment
- Reviewing upcoming work and confirming labour, materials and site requirements
- Creating, updating and managing jobs through Simpro
- Monitoring job progress, deadlines, costs and outstanding documentation
- Assisting with quotations, purchase orders, variations and project cost tracking
- Liaising with clients, project managers, supervisors, technicians and suppliers
- Preparing and updating electrical and communications drawings
- Producing layouts, mark-ups, schematics and as-built drawings
- Interpreting construction drawings, specifications and client requirements
- Coordinating site access, inductions, permits and project documentation
- Ensuring technicians submit accurate timesheets, job notes, photographs and service reports
- Identifying and escalating operational risks, delays and resourcing concerns
- Supporting job close-out and ensuring all required documentation is complete
- Maintaining GAP Industries’ safety, quality, presentation and customer-service standards
- Supporting continuous improvement across operational systems and workflows

Drafting Responsibilities





Previous drafting experience is essential. The successful applicant must be confident:
- Using AutoCAD or similar drafting software
- Preparing electrical, lighting, power, data and communications layouts
- Updating drawings from site mark-ups and technician information
- Preparing accurate as-built documentation
- Reading and interpreting architectural, electrical and construction plans
- Maintaining drawing registers, revisions and document control
- Working with project managers and tradespeople to ensure drawings accurately reflect completed works

Experience with Bluebeam, Revit, Microsoft Office and Simpro will be highly regarded.

- Previous operations coordination experience within the electrical, communications or construction industry
- Demonstrated technical drafting experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting software
- Robust understanding of electrical and data operations
- Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications
- Strong scheduling, planning and organisational skills




- Experience coordinating field technicians and competing priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and document-control skills
- Ability to identify problems and follow them through to resolution
- Confidence communicating with clients, supervisors, suppliers and tradespeople
- Ability to work independently while supporting the wider operational team
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- Reliable, professional and solutions-focused approach
