Iqra College is opening an Outside School Hours Care service at our O'Halloran Hill campus. We are looking for the person who will open it — set the culture, build the team, and run the program from the first morning session onward.

We are not opening a service that aims to pass

We are building for Exceeding National Quality Standard, and we know where that actually comes from: practice that is embedded, informed by real critical reflection, and shaped by genuine engagement with families and community. Not a good folder. It takes a first year done properly. Here is what is already in place so that year can be spent on practice rather than paperwork:

- A complete, current suite of policies and procedures
- A provider-level risk register and a governance calendar
- Quality Improvement Plan tooling ready for your team to complete
- An educational consultant

What is not done is the half no document can do. Embedded practice means it happens consistently, intentionally, and the same way with every educator across the whole program — and that is built by a person over a year, not written into a policy. That person is who we are hiring.

Islam at the centre, not bolted on

Most faith-based services run a secular program and add values to it. We are deliberately building the other way: Islam is the starting point and the program is built outward from it, in daily practice — prayer, character and manners, community, and the rhythm of the week. My Time, Our Place gives us the framework; this gives us the substance. That work is beginning, not finished, and it will define this service.



Whoever takes this role helps shape it — and will later help extend the same approach across the College's early learning and care services.

You do not have to be Muslim to lead this. Non-Muslim staff hold senior leadership positions at Iqra, and faith is not a selection criterion for this role. What the role does require is commitment to the program design — building outward from Islamic practice rather than adding it on afterwards.

The role

You will be the Nominated Supervisor under the Education and Care Services National Law — responsible for the day-to-day management of the service. In practice, you will:

- Lead before school and after school sessions and vacation care for up to 60 children
- Recruit, roster, induct and mentor a team of diploma and certificate III educators
- Design and continually improve the program under My Time, Our Place
- Own compliance and quality: the supervision plan, records and registers, notifications to the Education Standards Board, and a Quality Improvement Plan written to an Exceeding standard
- Build the Islamic dimension of the program into daily practice, alongside the College and our Arabic and Islamic program staff
- Build the family relationships that decide whether the service grows — enrolments, fees, and day-to-day communication

What you need

• An ACECQA-approved diploma-level or higher qualification recognised for OSHC in South Australia

- Demonstrated leadership in OSHC or education and care




- Working knowledge of the National Quality Framework and My Time, Our Place
- A current SA Working with Children Check
- RRHAN-EC and child protection training — held, or completed before you start
- Current first aid including CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma management
- The right to live and work in Australia

Before you spend any more time on this

Three things you would find out eventually, so you may as well have them now:

- We are opening, not open. Our service approval application is with the Education Standards Board and we are building the team ready for the day it comes through.
- The Islamic program is the design, not decoration. Faith is not a requirement; commitment to building the program this way is.
- Exceeding is what we are building for, not a rating we hold. The service has not been assessed, because it has not opened — a first assessment and rating typically falls 9 to 18 months after operations commence. We are not going to pretend that timeline is easy.
- It is a split shift. Early morning and late afternoon, with the middle of the day yours. Anticipated start: October
