About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and multi-skilled Painter/Blaster to join our workshop and yard team in Carnarvon. This is a long-term position offering consistent work for the right person. We are particularly interested in someone who has experience in industrial painting and abrasive blasting, along with experience as a Mechanical Trade Assistant and/or Mobile Plant Operator.

The role will involve working at our Workshop in Carnarvon, preparing, repairing, blasting and painting equipment, as well as assisting with general mechanical and workshop duties.

This would suit someone who is practical, mechanically minded, takes pride in their work and enjoys variety.

Key Responsibilities

- Industrial painting and spray painting
- Abrasive blasting and surface preparation
- Preparation of heavy machinery, plant and equipment for painting
- Priming, painting and finishing equipment to a high standard
- Assisting tradespeople with mechanical and workshop duties
- General mechanical trade assistant work
- Operating mobile plant and workshop equipment where appropriately licensed
- Cleaning, preparing and maintaining the workshop and yard
- Assisting with equipment repairs, maintenance and refurbishment
- Following safe work practices and maintaining a clean and organised work area

About You

We are looking for someone who can bring a combination of skills and experience to the role.

Essential:

- Previous industrial painting and/or abrasive blasting experience
- Strong understanding of surface preparation and painting processes




- Valuable attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Strong safety awareness
- Reliable and able to work independently
- High risk Forklift licence
- Good attitude and willingness to assist across different areas of the workshop

Highly regarded:

- Mechanical Trade Assistant experience
- Experience working around heavy machinery, mining or civil equipment
- Mobile plant operating experience
- Spray painting and blasting experience
- Experience with heavy equipment refurbishment
- Mechanical or fabrication experience

You do not need to hold every one of the above skills. We are particularly interested in applicants who have a strong painting/blasting background combined with mechanical or plant operating experience.

What We Offer

- $55–$60 per hour, depending on experience and skill level
- Casual employment with long-term ongoing work
