Browns Stockfeed is seeking reliable and motivated people to join our team at our Colbinabbin Mill. We have two full-time positions available – Pellet Press Operator & Mill Hand.

Pellet Press Operator The Pellet Press Operator is responsible for the efficient operation of the pellet press and associated mill equipment.
Duties Include:
- Batching and accurate weighing of raw ingredients
- Programming, setup, monitoring and operation of pellet press equipment
- Monitoring product quality and making process adjustments as required
- Working collaboratively within a small team to ensure smooth daily operations
- General operation of the mill and associated plant and equipment
- Routine cleaning and preventative maintenance throughout the mill
- Assisting with maintenance, breakdowns and repairs
- Unloading raw materials and loading finished product
- Identifying and reporting quality, safety or production issues
About You:
- Previous experience operating pellet presses or similar manufacturing equipment
- Comfortable working in a small team where everyone contributes
- Strong understanding of feed manufacturing processes and ingredient flow
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to accurately calculate, record and report production data
- Competent computer skills with experience using Probatch software
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
- Reliable, safety-focused and able to communicate effectively
- Forklift licence and/or relevant manufacturing qualifications (highly regarded)
Mill Hand The Mill Hand will assist with the day-to-day running of the mill and work closely with the Pellet Press Operator.
Duties include:
- Preparing products and ingredients for upcoming rations
- Assisting the Pellet Press Operator with day-to-day production tasks
- Operating mill and grain handling equipment including bagging and loading finished feed
- Weighbridge operation, testing inward grain and unloading raw materials
- General mill and yard cleaning and routine preventative maintenance
- Learning the pellet press operation to provide lunch break cover for the Pellet Press Operator
- Reporting quality, safety or production issues to supervisor or manager
About you:
- Reliable and willing to learn
- Positive attitude and works well in a small team
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling
- Able to follow instructions and safety procedures
- Good reading, writing and basic maths skills, with legible handwriting
- Forklift licence an advantage
Previous experience in a factory, farm, warehouse or similar environment is helpful but not essential.
