Sandstone Lakes Early Learning has proudly been part of the local community for over 13 years, providing quality early childhood education and care and supporting generations of children and families.
We are now seeking an experienced, passionate and dedicated Service Manager to join our well-established service and take on the role of Nominated Supervisor.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced early childhood leader who is committed to creating a positive workplace culture, building strong relationships and ensuring children’s safety, wellbeing, learning and development remain at the heart of everything we do.
About the role
As Service Manager and Nominated Supervisor, you will provide strong operational and pedagogical leadership across the service while supporting our established team to continue delivering high-quality education and care.
We are looking for a leader who understands that effective leadership is not one-size-fits-all. You will have the ability to adapt your leadership approach to meet the individual needs, strengths and experience of your team while building a culture of trust, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Most importantly, you will be a leader who places child protection, child safety and the Child Safe Standards at the forefront of your practice and decision-making.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing strong and supportive leadership to educators and the wider service team
Undertaking the responsibilities of Nominated Supervisor
Ensuring compliance with the National Quality Framework, National Law and Regulations and organisational policies and procedures
Embedding child protection and child safe practices throughout all areas of the service
Supporting a positive, professional and collaborative workplace culture
Building trusting and respectful relationships with children, families and the local community
Mentoring, coaching and developing educators to reach their qualified goals
Supporting quality improvement and reflective practice across the service
Maintaining high standards across education, care, health, safety and supervision
Supporting occupancy, family engagement and the ongoing success of the service
Working collaboratively with our wider leadership and support team
About you
You will be an experienced early childhood professional who genuinely loves the sector and understands the important role a Service Manager plays in supporting children, families and educators.
You will demonstrate:
Solid leadership and people-management skills
The ability to tailor your leadership style to different team members and situations
A passion for early childhood education and care
A thorough understanding of the National Quality Framework and National Quality Standards
A strong commitment to child protection, safeguarding and Child Secure Standards
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
The ability to build trusting and collaborative relationships with families
Confidence in mentoring, coaching and supporting educators
Strong organisational and operational skills
A commitment to continuous improvement and high-quality practice
Professionalism, integrity and accountability
Applicants must hold:
A minimum Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, or an ACECQA-approved/equivalent qualification
A current and valid Queensland Blue Card / Working with Children Check
A current recognised formal Child Protection qualification/certificate
Up-to-date Foundation Child Safety Training through the GECKO platform
Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications, or willingness to obtain/update these prior to commencement
Appropriate eligibility and experience to undertake the role of Nominated Supervisor
Teacher registration will also be required where applicable to the applicant's position or qualification.
