Postino Osteria is Summer Hill’s traditional Italian neighbourhood osteria — part wine bar, part restaurant and part intimate events space.

Since opening in September 2024, Postino has quickly established itself as a standout in Sydney’s dining scene, proudly earning a Chef’s Hat while maintaining the warmth, personality and energy of a true neighbourhood osteria.

Our approach is relaxed and welcoming, without ever compromising on quality. The menu celebrates Italian cuisine at its best — from antipasti and handmade pastas to seasonal specials — complemented by a thoughtfully curated wine cellar and cocktail program.

We are now looking for experienced Section Waiters and Sommeliers who are passionate about exceptional hospitality, Italian food and wine, and creating memorable guest experiences.

The Opportunity

As a Section Waiter or Sommelier, you will play an important role in delivering the warm, polished and knowledgeable style of service Postino is known for.

Working across our 130-seat restaurant, you will take ownership of your section and contribute to à la carte dining, group bookings and special events.

Your role will include

- Confidently managing your own section throughout service
- Building genuine connections and rapport with guests
- Guiding guests through our food and beverage offering
- Providing informed menu, wine and food pairing recommendations




- Delivering polished, attentive and engaging service
- Managing orders, dietary requirements, billing and payments accurately
- Working closely with both FOH and BOH teams to ensure seamless service
- Maintaining exceptional presentation and service standards throughout your section
- Supporting and contributing to the restaurant’s wine service and overall guest experience

About You We are looking for hospitality professionals who bring energy, personality and confidence to the floor.

To be considered, you will ideally have:

- 1–3 years’ experience as a Section Waiter or Sommelier within premium or fine dining restaurant environments, or a Diploma in Hospitality
- Robust knowledge of restaurant service standards
- A genuine passion for hospitality and guest engagement
- Excellent communication and rapport-building skills
- Strong food and wine knowledge
- Experience with wine service, cellar management or supporting a restaurant wine program
- Excellent attention to detail and presentation
- Experience using restaurant POS systems
- The ability to perform confidently in a busy, high-volume environment
- A current NSW RSA
- Full Australian working rights

Highly Regarded We would especially love to hear from candidates with:
- Strong Italian food and wine knowledge
- Sommelier or dedicated wine service experience
- Experience providing thoughtful food and wine pairings
- Formal hospitality, wine or sommelier qualifications




- WSET Level 2 or above
- SevenRooms or similar reservation system experience
- Italian language skills
